''Greatest Hits'' is a compilation album by Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band, released in 1994. Certified Diamond by the RIAA, it is Seger's most successful album to date. In December 2009, Billboard and Nielsen SoundScan confirmed that with nearly nine million copies sold. Bob Seger's ''Greatest Hits'' was the decade's best-selling catalog album in the United States, even out-selling The Beatles' '' 1'' and Michael Jackson's '' Number Ones''. By September 2011, the album had sold a total of 9,062,000 copies in the United States. Album art Californian photographer, Karen Miller, took photos of the band as part of two photoshoots for the album. Robert Clark Seger ( ; born May 6, 1945) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. As a locally successful Detroit-area artist, he performed and recorded as Bob Seger and the Last Heard and The Bob Seger System throughout the 1960s, breaking through with his first album, ''Ramblin' Gamblin' Man'' (which contained his Ramblin' Gamblin' Man (song), first national hit of the same name) in 1968. By the early 1970s, he had dropped the 'System' from his recordings and continued to strive for broader success with various other bands. ''‘Live’ Bullet'' is a live album by American rock band Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band, released in April 1976. It was recorded at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan, during the heyday of that arena's time as an important rock concert venue. "Turn the Page" is a song originally recorded by Bob Seger in 1971 and released on his ''Back in '72'' album in 1973. ''Night Moves'' is the ninth studio album by American rock singer-songwriter Bob Seger, and his first studio album to credit the Silver Bullet Band. The album was released by Capitol Records on October 22, 1976. Although the front cover only credits backing by the Silver Bullet Band, four of the nine songs on the album feature backing by the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section. The album was well received by critics, and brought Bob Seger nationwide success. Three singles were released from the album; two of them made the top 40 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. The album became Seger's second to become certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America and was his first to be certified platinum by the same association. "Night Moves" is a song by American singer-songwriter Bob Seger. It was the lead single from his ninth studio album of the same name (1976), which was released on Capitol Records. Seger wrote the song as a coming of age tale about adolescent love and adult memory of it. It was based on Seger's own teenage love affair he experienced in the early 1960s. It took him six months to write and was recorded quickly at Nimbus Nine Studios in Toronto, Ontario, with producer Jack Richardson. ''The Distance'' is the twelfth studio album by US-American rock singer Bob Seger. It was released in the final week of 1982 (see 1982 in music). It peaked at #5 on ''Billboard''s album chart and sold close to two million copies in the United States. Seger, influenced by the Woody Allen film ''Annie Hall'', originally intended the album to be built around the theme of relationships but eventually that fell apart when Seger decided that sticking to the theme too strictly would make the album "maudlin". Craig Frost (born April 20, 1948 in Flint, Michigan) is the keyboardist for Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band. He is also known as keyboardist for 1970s hard rock band Grand Funk Railroad. He plays organ, synthesizers, and piano. Frost expanded Grand Funk's "power trio" musical style, by adding another dimension to their music. Grand Funk scored its biggest hits after Frost joined the band in 1972, and his work is instantly recognizable on Grand Funk's #1 songs "The Loco-Motion" (a cover of Little Eva's hit) and "We're an American Band". He also contributed significantly to Grand Funk as a songwriter, in partnership with drummer Don Brewer.
