Kottonmouth Kings
The Kottonmouth Kings is an American hip hop group formed in Placentia, California in 1996 by D-Loc and Saint Dog. The group advocates for legalizing cannabis, and their lyrics frequently refer to smoking marijuana. The group plays hip hop, punk and rap rock songs that sometimes incorporate elements of other genres, including psychedelic rock, reggae, dubstep, bluegrass and jam band. History ''Royal Highness'' (1998–1999) On February 24, 1998, Kottonmouth Kings released their first overall album, and their first EP, ''Stoners Reeking Havoc''. Aaron Dontez Yates (born November 8, 1971), better known by his stage name Tech N9ne (pronounced "tech nine"), is an American rapper. In 1999, he and business partner Travis O'Guin founded the record label Strange Music. He has sold over two million albums and has had his music featured in film, television, and video games. In 2009, he won the Left Field Woodie award at the mtvU Woodie Awards. His stage name originated from the TEC-9 semi-automatic handgun, a name given to him by rapper Black Walt due to his fast-rhyming chopper style. Corporate Avenger was an American nu metal band from Southern California. History The idea for the band Corporate Avenger was born some time between 1995 and 1996 when brothers, Spike and Brad Xavier were on tour in the band Humble Gods. Years later, Spike met with Marco of 1605 Studio in Huntington Beach, California, and recorded some songs. In 1999, these songs were released on Suburban Noize Records as the ''Taxes are Stealing'' EP. This EP featured the first song ever recorded by the group, "Evolve", a song questioning the origins of the native peoples of the Americas. At the time of the EP, the band consisted of eight members, including Pakelika of the Kottonmouth Kings, and other members of 20 Dead Flower Children and No Doubt.
