Grant Wilmot
Grant Wilmot (15 October 1956 – 4 July 2016) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Playing career Wilmot played his junior football at Diamond Valley Football League club Montmorency and broke into their seniors in 1974. He was a member of Montmorency's 1976 premiership team. From 1977 to 1979, Wilmot played for Preston in the Victorian Football Association (VFA). He played in the 1978 VFA Grand Final, which Preston lost to Prahran. Wilmot, who had previously fought a professional boxing bout as a middleweight in 1976, received a six-week suspension for his actions during the game. He made five senior appearances for Collingwood in the 1980 VFL season. His best performance, which earned him three Brownlow Medal votes, came in a win over St Kilda at Victoria Park, where he had 20 disposals and kicked four goals. Montmorency Football Club
Montmorency Football Club is an Australian rules football club in Montmorency, Victoria, currently competing in Division 1 in the Northern Football League. History The club was formed in 1924 by Harold Hodgson and was original based at Memorial park, Greensborough. In 1925 the club relocated to its current home and joined the Diamond Valley Football League where it competed until 1931 before going into recess. The Club was revived in 1936 and returned to the DVFL where it has remained ever since. Montmorency won its first premiership in 1951 followed by a second premiership in 1954. It was then another 22 years before the club won its third premiership in 1976. After grand final defeats in 1977 and 1978 the club won its fourth and most recent A Grade premiership in 1979. Wayne Headlam
Wayne Headlam (born 22 December 1948) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Headlam, a ruckman, was recruited from Pascoe Vale and played for Essendon at under-19s level. He won the Essendon District Football League's best and fairest award in 1968. He played five seasons at Essendon and left to take the position of Diamond Creek senior coach in 1974. After spending time away from the game to study, Headlam reappeared in 1976, playing for Coburg. In 1978 he joined Doncaster, as captain-coach.
