Grant Smith (footballer, Born 1980)
Grant Gordon Smith (born 5 May 1980) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He is the son of former Rangers and Brighton & Hove Albion striker and former Scottish Football Association chief executive Gordon Smith. Playing career Smith was born in Irvine. He signed a short-term contract with Dundee United in September 2006, agreeing to stay until the next transfer window in January 2007. Smith also played for English sides Bristol City and Walsall (on loan). Smith then signed one-year contract with Finnish club HJK Helsinki in April 2007. Smith returned to Britain in January 2008 and joined Carlisle United on a short-term contract until the end of the season, after training with the club's squad. On 8 April 2009, he was released from Carlisle United by mutual consent after not making a single first team appearance under new boss Greg Abbott who later denied any fall-out with Smith even though impressing in reserve games out of position. Grant Ashley Smith (born 20 November 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for National League side Yeovil Town. Career Smith began his career playing in the youth system of Eldon Celtic before joining the academy of Reading in 2007, before moving to Fulham. After spending two years with Fulham, Smith joined the development squad at Brighton & Hove Albion in September 2012, agreeing a one-year contract extension in May 2013. He joined Bognor Regis Town in February 2014. In May 2014 he was released by Brighton & Hove Albion. He joined Hayes & Yeading United in September 2014, before moving to Farnborough a month later. Grant Smith & The Power were a popular Canadian (from Toronto) rock-soul outfit from the 1960s that had a hit with a cover of Jackie Edwards' "Keep On Running" (previously a big hit for The Spencer Davis Group) and was also a training ground for musicians who went on to the likes of McKenna Mendelson Mainline and Motherlode. Grant Maloy Smith (born August 28, 1957) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and former businessman from Jacksonville, Florida. Early life Smith was born in Jacksonville, Florida and started playing songs of The Beatles with the guitar at an early age. He attended the Rhode Island School of Design but did not complete his tenure there, opting to focus on music. Early music career Smith's first band was called Britannia (1981-1984). In 2008, he and his band opened for the national acts like Elvin Bishop, Steppenwolf, and The Guess Who. Britannia played all original music, written by Smith; one Smith's songs "I'm A Loaded Gun" was included on the 1981 album "Southern New England's Best Rock From JB 105". Smith was married in 1985 and he continued writing music.
