Grant Miehm
Grant Miehm is a Canadian illustrator who has worked for a number of different American comics publishers. Career Miehm's work began appearing in the mid-1980s, in various titles produced by independent publishers, beginning with '' Elementals'' #15 (July 1987) from Comico: The Comic Company. Miehm cites various artists as influences but notes that: "I also think any creative person is influenced by everything around them --- so aside from artists whose work I admire, life itself imprints upon the psyche of the artist". After drawing '' The American'' for Dark Horse Comics, Miehm worked for DC Comics from approximately 1988 to 1993, drawing for numerous titles including ''The Flash'', ''Justice Society'', ''Green Arrow'', and ''Suicide Squad''. Mark Waid
Mark Waid (; born March 21, 1962) is an American comic book writer best known for his work on DC Comics titles ''The Flash'', '' Kingdom Come'' and '' Superman: Birthright'' as well as his work on ''Captain America'', ''Fantastic Four'' and '' Daredevil'' for Marvel. From August 2007 to December 2010, Waid served as Editor-in-Chief and later Chief Creative Officer of Boom! Studios, where he also published his creator-owned series ''Irredeemable'' and ''Incorruptible''. In October 2018, Waid joined Humanoids Publishing as Director of Creative Development before being promoted to Publisher in February 2020. Starman (comics)
Starman is a name used by several different DC Comics superheroes, most prominently Starman (Ted Knight), Ted Knight and his sons David and Starman (Jack Knight), Jack. Created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Jack Burnley, the original Starman, Ted Knight, first appeared in ''Adventure Comics'' #61 (April 1941). An astronomer, Knight invented a "gravity rod", later reinvented as a "cosmic rod", allowing him to fly and manipulate energy, and donned a red and green costume with a distinctive finned helmet. Secret Origins
''Secret Origins'' is the title of several comic book series published by DC Comics which featured the origin stories of the publisher's various characters. Publication history ''Secret Origins'' was first published as a one-shot in 1961 and contained only reprinted material. The title became an ongoing reprint series in February–March 1973 which ran for seven issues and ended in October–November 1974. The title was used on various compilations of origin stories, including ''Limited Collectors' Edition'' #C-39: ''Secret Origins Super-Villains'' (October–November 1975) and #C-45: ''More Secret Origins Super-Villains'' (June–July 1976) as well as ''DC Special Series'' #10 (1978) and 19 (Fall 1979). Crying is the dropping of tears (or welling of tears in the eyes) in response to an emotional state, or pain. Emotions that can lead to crying include sadness, anger, and even happiness. The act of crying has been defined as "a complex secretomotor phenomenon characterized by the shedding of tears from the lacrimal apparatus, without any irritation of the ocular structures", instead, giving a relief which protects from conjunctivitis. A related medical term is lacrimation, which also refers to non-emotional shedding of tears. Various forms of crying are known as ''sobbing'', ''weeping'', ''wailing'', ''whimpering'', ''bawling'', and ''blubbering''. Justice Society Of America
The Justice Society of America (JSA, or Justice Society (JS)) is a superhero team appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The team was conceived by editor Sheldon Mayer and writer Gardner Fox during the Golden Age of Comic Books. The JSA first appeared in ''All Star Comics'' #3 (Winter 1940–1941), making it the first team of superheroes in comic books. The original members of the Justice Society of America were Doctor Fate, Hourman, the Spectre, Sandman, Atom, the Flash, Green Lantern, and Hawkman. The team was initially popular, but after the popularity of superhero comics waned in the late 1940s, the JSA's adventures ceased with issue #57 of the title (March 1951).
