Grant McCray
Grant Snow McCray (born December 7, 2000) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2024. Career McCray was born in Billings, Montana while his father, Rodney, was coaching in the Cincinnati Reds farm system for the Billings Mustangs. He attended Lakewood Ranch High School in Bradenton, Florida. He was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the third round of the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft. McCray made his professional debut with the rookie–level Arizona League Giants, batting .270/.379/.335 in 185 at bats. He did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of the COVID-19 pandemic. McCray returned to action in 2021 to play for the rookie–level Arizona Complex League Giants and Single–A San Jose Giants, batting a combined .274/.342/.422 in 135 at bats. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases. As an outfielder, they normally play behind the six players located in the field. By convention, each of the nine defensive positions in baseball is numbered. The outfield positions are 7 (left field), 8 (center field) and 9 (right field). These numbers are shorthand designations useful in baseball scorekeeping and are not necessarily the same as the squad numbers worn on player uniforms. Sacramento River Cats
The Sacramento River Cats are a Minor League Baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL) and are the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. Prior to 2015, the River Cats were the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics for 15 years. They are based in West Sacramento, California, and play their home games at Sutter Health Park which opened in 2000 and was known as Raley Field through 2019. Sacramento was previously represented in the Pacific Coast League by the Solons, a charter member of the league which was founded in 1903. The Eugene Emeralds (nicknamed the Ems) are a Minor League Baseball team in the northwest United States, based in Eugene, Oregon. The San Jose Giants are a Minor League Baseball team of the California League and the Single-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. The Arizona Complex League Giants are a professional baseball team competing as a Rookie-level affiliate of the San Francisco Giants in the Arizona Complex League of Minor League Baseball.
