Grant Anderson (born 30 October 1999) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays as a er for the Melbourne Storm in the National Rugby League (NRL). Early life Anderson was born in Fremantle, Western Australia and he grew up in Belmont, New South Wales. He was educated at Hunter Sports High School, Newcastle. Grant played junior rugby league for the Central Charlestown Butcher Boys and Valentine-Eleebana Red Devils before signing with Newcastle Knights. Playing career Early career After playing junior representatives for Newcastle Knights, Anderson played for the Northern Pride during the 2021 Queensland Cup season, scoring nine tries in 15 appearances. 2022 Queensland Cup
The 2022 Queensland Cup season was the 27th season of Queensland's top-level statewide rugby league competition run by the Queensland Rugby League. The competition, known as the Hostplus Cup due to sponsorship, featured 14 teams playing a 24-week long season (including finals) from March to September. It is the first season played under Hostplus sponsorship, after 11 seasons known as the Intrust Super Cup. Norths Devils won their second consecutive grand final, defeating the Redcliffe Dolphins 16–10 to take their third Queensland Cup premiership. Xavier Coates (born 12 March 2001) is a Papua New Guinea international rugby league footballer who plays as a er for the Melbourne Storm in the NRL. He previously played for the Brisbane Broncos. He has played for Queensland in the State of Origin series. Early life Coates was born in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea to a mother from the Gulf Province in PNG and an Australian father. As an infant he moved with his family to Australia and initially spent two years living in Cairns before settling on the Gold Coast. He attended Marymount College throughout his upbringing and began pursuing an athletics career in primary school. His goal was to represent Papua New Guinea at the Olympics but former NRL player and Marymount teacher Matt Geyer organised a phone call with then-Queensland captain Greg Inglis and the pair convinced Coates to pursue a career in rugby league instead. The Sydney Roosters are an Australian professional Rugby league, Rugby League Football Club based in the Eastern Suburbs (Sydney) and parts of inner Sydney. The 2022 Melbourne Storm season was the 25th in the club's history, competing in the 2022 NRL season. The team was coached by Craig Bellamy, coaching the club for his 20th consecutive season and for the second straight season, Melbourne had co-captains with Jesse Bromwich (second season), and Christian Welch (first season) sharing the duties, following the departure of Dale Finucane.
