Egbert Bratt Grandin
Egbert Bratt Grandin (March 30, 1806 – April 16, 1845) was a printer in Palmyra, New York, best known for publishing the first edition of the Book of Mormon, a sacred text of the churches of the Latter Day Saint movement. Biography Grandin was born in Freehold, Monmouth County, New Jersey, the youngest of ten children, and was reared on a farm near Palmyra, New York. At eighteen, he became an apprentice printer at the office of Palmyra's '' Wayne Sentinel'', which he purchased in 1827. Besides publishing the newspaper, Grandin sold and bound books and operated a lending library. He married Harriet Rogers in 1828; they had six children, five of whom lived to adulthood. Grandin died at Palmyra. Elliot Grandin (born 17 October 1987) is a French professional footballer who plays as a winger for Championnat National 3 club Cannet Rocheville. Grandin can also play as a central attacking midfielder. He notably played in the Premier League for Blackpool and previously in France for Caen, Marseille, Nice and Grenoble. Ethel Grandin (March 3, 1894 – September 28, 1988) was an American silent film actress. Grandin was born in New York City. She was married to Ray C. Smallwood from 1912 until his death on February 23, 1964; they had a son named Arthur Smallwood. She began her acting career on stage appearing with Joseph Jefferson in ''Rip Van Winkle''. Philomène Grandin (born 23 September 1974, in Stockholm) is a Swedish actress and television host. She is the daughter of Izzy Young, the folk music expert. She is a prominent proponent for the humane treatment of livestock for slaughter and the author of more than 60 scientific papers on animal behavior. Thomas Grandin (July 19, 1907 – October, 19 1977) was an American broadcast journalist during World War II. He was an original member of a team of reporters and war correspondents known as the Murrow Boys. Early career Grandin was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Yale University in 1930 and studied international law at the University of Berlin and the École des sciences politiques in Paris.
