Grande Sauldre
The Grande Sauldre is an long river of central France. Its source is at Humbligny. It joins with the Petite Sauldre near Salbris to form the Sauldre. The Sandre considers it as the upper course of the Sauldre. Argent-sur-Sauldre (, literally ''Argent on Sauldre'') is a Communes of France, commune in the Cher (department), Cher Departments of France, department in the Centre-Val de Loire Regions of France, region of France. Geography An area of lakes, streams, forestry and farming comprising the village and a couple of hamlets, situated in the valley of the river Sauldre, some north of Bourges at the junction of the D8, D940, D948 and the D24 roads. Blancafort () is a Communes of France, commune in the Cher (department), Cher Departments of France, department in the Centre-Val de Loire Regions of France, region of France. Geography A forestry and farming village situated in the valley of the river Sauldre, some north of Bourges at the junction of the D8, D30 and the D39 roads. Concressault
Concressault () is a commune in the Cher department in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. Geography Concressault is a small farming village situated by the banks of the Sauldre river, north of Bourges at the junction of the D8 with the D11 and D21 roads. Population History In the medieval period, Concressault was surrounded by fortifications and therefore had the status of "city". The village developed itself around a castle built some distance aside of the older village of Dampierre-en-Crot. The new village ended up, at some point in the past, being more important than the first one. Barlieu
Barlieu () is a commune in the French department of Cher, Centre-Val de Loire, France. History In 1136, a papal bull mentioned the church at Barlieu as "Ecclesiam de Barlocco. The parish church, dedicated to Saint Germain, was initially appointed to the abbot of Saint-Satur and a priory, called the "chaplaincy Barlieu", was built here. As an old fortified place with a public square, the village belonged to the house of Sancerre in 1152. In 1190, before his departure for the Crusades, Count Stephen I, Count of Sancerre, gave the residents "the customs of Lorris", which allowed them to hold markets and fairs. At the beginning of the fifteenth century, the lordship of Barlieu was sold to Martin of Charpaigne Gouge, bishop of Clermont and Chancellor to the Duke of Berry.
