Grand Theft Audio
Grand Theft Audio are a British rock band formed in London, England in 1998. They were signed to London-Sire Records in 1999 and produced their only album at the time ''Blame Everyone'' in 2000 until the band split up in 2003 due to the record label being dissolved that year. Their original line-up was ex-3 Colours Red guitarist Chris McCormack, producer and bassist Ralph Jezzard, frontman; vocalist and ex-Real TV star Jay Butler and ex-The Wildhearts drummer Ritch Battersby. The band, minus McCormack, announced on their website page that they were reforming with a new album in the works. Career Formation and early years (1997–1999) Grand Theft Audio were originally known as The Infidels, before the band learned of the existence of several other combos with the same moniker. They formed out of the friendship and musical rapport that had developed while its four members were in separate bands. Mission of Burma was an American post-punk band from Boston, Massachusetts. The group formed in 1979 with Roger Miller on guitar, Clint Conley on bass, Peter Prescott on drums, and Martin Swope contributing audiotape manipulation and acting as the band’s sound engineer. In this initial lineup, Miller, Conley, and Prescott all shared singing and songwriting duties. In their early years the band's recordings were all released on the small Boston-based record label Ace of Hearts.
