Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa
The Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa (グランドプリンスホテル高輪) is a complex of three hotels (Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa, Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa, and The Prince Sakura Tower) designed by architect Togo Murano in 1982, and situated in the Takanawa district of Minato, Tokyo, Japan. The hotel was originally established as the Takanawa Prince Hotel in 1953. The three hotels, effectively managed as one, are situated in a garden which formerly belonged to Takeda Palace of Prince Tsuneyoshi Takeda, a member of the Imperial Household of Japan, Japanese Imperial Family. The hotels are the flagship properties of the Prince Hotels group which has a recently checkered history due to events at its corporate parent, Seibu Corporation, an affiliate of Seibu Railway and its former chairman Yoshiaki Tsutsumi. Togo Murano
was a Japanese architect. Although his formative years were between 1910 and 1930, he remained active in design throughout his life and at the time of his death was responsible for over three hundred completed projects. Although his work lacked a distinctive singular style, he was recognised as a master of the modern interpretation of the sukiya style. His work included large public buildings as well as hotels and department stores and he has been recognised as one of Japan's modern masters. was the second and last heir of the Takeda-no-miya collateral branch of the Japanese Imperial Family. Biography Early life Prince Takeda Tsuneyoshi was the only son of Prince Takeda Tsunehisa and Masako, Princess Tsune (1888–1940), the sixth daughter of Emperor Meiji.
