The Grand Illusion
''The Grand Illusion'' is the seventh studio album by American rock music, rock band Styx (band), Styx. Recorded at Paragon Recording Studios in Chicago, the album was released on July 7, 1977, by A&M Records. (Intentionally choosing the combination 7th on 7-7-77 for luck). The release was a smash worldwide, selling three million copies in the US (Triple Platinum) alone. Some estimates have the album at over 6 million copies sold. The album launched the band to stardom and spawned the hit singles "Come Sail Away" and "Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man), Fooling Yourself." The title track also received substantial FM airplay, but was never released as an official single. Nocturnal Rites
Nocturnal Rites is a Swedish power metal band formed in 1990. Biography The band started off under the name ''Necronomic'' playing death metal, as can be heard on their demo (''The Obscure'', 1991). This attracted some independent labels' attention, but they turned them down in the hope of a better opportunity. On the two-track promo that was recorded in 1992, their style had evolved into a slightly more melodic, Iron Maiden-influenced sound. The band initially consisted of Fredrik Mannberg (guitar and vocals) and Tommy Eriksson (drums), who then hired bassist Nils Eriksson. Following their change of style, the band hired vocalist Anders Zackrisson, whose voice was more adapted than Fredrik Mannberg's to power metal. Tommy Eriksson was soon after replaced by Ulf Andersson. The band also added a second guitarist, Mikael Söderström. Power metal is a subgenre of heavy metal combining characteristics of traditional heavy metal with speed metal, often within symphonic context. Jens Ola Johansson (born 2 November 1963 in Stockholm) is a Swedish keyboardist and pianist who currently plays in the Finnish power metal band Stratovarius and Ritchie Blackmore's rock project Rainbow. He is notable for his high-speed neoclassical and fusion style. Biography Johansson is son of Swedish jazz pianist Jan Johansson and brother of Ex-HammerFall drummer Anders Johansson. He is highly influenced by classic rock keyboardists like Don Airey, Eddie Jobson and Jon Lord. In 1982, the classically trained Johansson left the jazz fusion band Slem and joined the Swedish metal band Silver Mountain, which also included Anders. Evergrey is a Swedish progressive metal band from Gothenburg. Stefan Elmgren
Stefan Elmgren (born 17 May 1974) is the former guitarist of the Swedish power metal band HammerFall from 1997 to 2008. History Before becoming a member of HammerFall, he was the guitarist in the band Highlander. Elmgren has also worked with his solo project Full Strike and released one album called ''We Will Rise'' which was released in 2002. Stefan also plays the guitar in Joacim Cans' solo project Cans. He quit the band in 2008 to put more energy into his career as a pilot. He currently plays with Full Force. In 2014, it was announced that Elmgren would temporarily return to HammerFall, playing bass guitar while regular bass player Fredrik Larsson was on paternity leave.
