Granby, Quebec
Granby is a town in southwestern Quebec, located east of Montreal. The population as of the Canada 2021 Census was 69,025. Granby is the seat of La Haute-Yamaska Regional County Municipality. It is the second most populated city in Estrie after Sherbrooke. The town is named after John Manners, Marquess of Granby; today it is most famous for the Granby Zoo and its landmark fountain of Lac Boivin. History The territory on which Granby is found was described as natural prairies and forests composed of ash, fir, maple, hemlock and birch, there was also a small swamp a kilometre and half uphill. Les Panthères de St-Jérome are a junior ice hockey team from Saint-Jérôme, Quebec, Canada. They are a part of the Quebec Junior Hockey League. History The franchise was founded in 1988 as the Saint-Antoine Rapidos. A season later they were known as the Laval-Laurentides Panthers. In 1992, the team moved to Saint-Jerome. Carleton Place Canadians
The Carleton Place Canadians are a junior ice hockey team based in Carleton Place, Ontario Canada. The Canadians are members of the Central Canada Hockey League and Canadian Junior Hockey League, and as such are eligible for the Eastern Canadian Fred Page Cup championship and Royal Bank Cup National championship. History The Carleton Place Kings began play in 1969 in the Renfrew-Lanark Junior C Hockey League. Soon after, the league folded and the Kings ended up in the Rideau-St. Lawrence Junior B Hockey League in 1971. This league later became the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League. In 2009 it was announced that the team had been granted expansion to the Central Junior A Hockey League. The Truro Bearcats are a Junior "A" ice hockey team based out of Truro, Nova Scotia. The Bearcats are one of six Nova Scotia teams in the Maritime Junior Hockey League. History Metro Valley League years Originally, Truro was a member of the Metro Valley Junior Hockey League. The Bearcats won five championships in the MVJHL. Les Braves de Valleyfield or the Valleyfield Braves are a Canadian junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Junior Hockey League (LHJQ). They play in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Quebec at the Aréna Salaberry. History As part of the College St. Lawrence, the team went by the name "St. Lawrence College of Québec Lions" during its first three seasons. After a modest first season, the Lions reached the playoffs in their second season. The 2005–06 season saw them reach the quarterfinals in the playoffs and achieve a winning regular season record. The Longueuil Collège-Français were a major junior ice hockey team based in Longueuil, Quebec, Canada. They played three seasons, from 1988–89 QMJHL season, 1988 to 1990–91 QMJHL season, 1991, in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The team played its home games out of the 2,400-seat Colisée Jean Béliveau.
