Granbury High School
Granbury High School is a public high school located in the city of Granbury, Texas, United States and classified as a 5A school by the University Interscholastic League (UIL). It is part of the Granbury Independent School District which serves students grades 9–12 from Granbury, Hood County along with portions of Johnson County and Parker County. The school was founded around 1870 at a different location. The present high school was built in the 1970s at its current location. It was the first public school in Hood County. In 2015, the school was rated " Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency. Robert Hughes (basketball Coach)
Robert Hughes Sr. (born May 15, 1928) is a retired American high school basketball coach. Hughes was the United States' all-time winningest high school basketball coach from February 11, 2003 to December 7, 2010, and is currently the winningest boys high school basketball coach in the United States with 1,333 wins. He was passed in wins by Leta Andrews of Granbury High School in Granbury, Texas, who compiled a national record 1,416 career victories in girls high school basketball before retiring in 2014. Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water. The sport takes place in pools or open water (e.g., in a sea or lake). Competitive swimming is one of the most popular Olympic sports, with varied distance events in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, and individual medley. In addition to these individual events, four swimmers can take part in either a freestyle or medley relay. A medley relay consists of four swimmers who will each swim a different stroke, ordered as backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle. Dana Vollmer
Dana Whitney Vollmer (born November 13, 1987) is a former American competition swimmer, five-time Olympic gold medalist, and former world record-holder. At the 2004 Summer Olympics, she won a gold medal as a member of the winning United States team in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay that set the world record in the event. Eight years later at the 2012 Summer Olympics, Vollmer set the world record on her way to the gold medal in the 100-meter butterfly, and also won golds in the 4×100-meter medley relay and 4×200-meter freestyle relay. Jia Dorene Perkins (born February 23, 1982) is an American retired professional basketball player. She announced her retirement after the 2017 season when the Lynx won the WNBA championship. Granbury Independent School District
Granbury Independent School District is a public school district based in Granbury, Texas (USA). In addition to Granbury, the district serves the eastern Hood County cities of DeCordova and Stockton Bend (formerly Brazos Bend), and the majority of Cresson. The district boundary also includes the unincorporated communities of Canyon Creek, Oak Trail Shores, and Pecan Plantation. Small portions of Parker, Johnson, and Somervell counties also lie within the district. In 2009, the school district was rated " recognized" by the Texas Education Agency.
