Graig Newman
Graig Newman (born July 2, 1989) is a Canadian former professional football defensive back for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was invited to the Roughriders' 2011 training camp on May 17, 2011, and spent time on the team's practice roster during the 2011 season. Following the completion of his junior career, Newman signed with Saskatchewan on December 11, 2011. He played for two years with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers before re-signing with the Roughriders on February 9, 2016. He announced his retirement on March 20, 2017. Saskatoon Hilltops
The Saskatoon Hilltops are a junior Canadian football team based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The Hilltops play in the six-team Prairie Football Conference, which is part of the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) and compete annually for the Canadian Bowl. The team was founded in 1921 as a senior team in the Saskatchewan Rugby Football Union, which it played in until 1936. Two years after WWII the team reorganized in 1947. Beginning in 1953, the Hilltops have won 22 Canadian Bowl championships. The Hilltops have won six consecutive Canadian Bowls, having done so between 2014 and 2019. Playing field The Hilltops play their home games on the Saskatoon Minor Football Field at Gordie Howe Sports Complex, and practice at Kilburn Park in the Buena Vista neighbourhood. 2011 Saskatchewan Roughriders Season
The 2011 Saskatchewan Roughriders season was the 54th season for the team in the Canadian Football League. The Roughriders finished 4th place in the West Division with a 5–13 record and were eliminated from the playoffs after a loss to the BC Lions on October 16, 2011. This marks the first time since 2001 that the Roughriders have missed the playoffs. Offseason CFL Draft The 2011 CFL Draft took place on Sunday, May 8, 2011. The Roughriders had five selections in the draft, with the first coming in the 12th spot overall, after trading their seventh overall pick to the Toronto Argonauts for the 12th and 27th selections.
