Graham Stokes (music Executive)
Graham Barry Stokes, 9 February 1958, Birmingham, West Midlands, England) is a British music executive and musician. He grew up in Leigh Park, Hampshire, attending Wakeford Comprehensive (now known as Havant Academy). He spent his early life playing in various bands as a guitarist, before landing a job at Arista Records as a post boy in 1979. Career Early career He was soon recruited by the Radio and Television Promotions Department at Arista Records and worked with bands such as The Beat and Secret Affair. He then spent the next 10 years working at some of London's biggest record labels including London Records, Island Records and MCA Records where he helped to guide the careers of Bananarama, Bobby Brown, Communards, Fine Young Cannibals, Kim Wilde and Run DMC. Boyband
A boy band is loosely defined as a vocal group consisting of young male singers, usually in their teenage years or in their twenties at the time of formation. Generally, boy bands perform love songs marketed towards girls and young women. Many boy bands dance as well as sing, usually giving highly choreographed performances. South Korean boy bands usually also have designated rappers. Some such bands are formed on their own, often evolving out of church choral or gospel music groups. In contrast, others are created by talent managers or record producers who hold auditions. UK Albums Chart
The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data. Background Following a further three years away from the music industry, Andre had been quietly writing and recording new material. Andre was offered a recording contract with Conehead Management following the success of his ITV2 fly-on-the-wall documentary, Peter Andre: The Next Chapter. Andre began recording with Conehead in January 2009. On 9 August 2009, " Behind Closed Doors" was revealed as the first single from Andre's upcoming album. BWO was a Swedish electropop group, formed in 2003. Prior to early 2006 they used the name Bodies Without Organs. Fast Food Rockers were a British pop music, pop group known briefly for their novelty music. The band met at a fast-food convention in Folkestone in the summer of 2003. Career Their most successful hit was their 2003 release "Fast Food Song", which parodies the traditional folk music, folk melody "A Ram Sam Sam". The Dutch DJ Eric Dikeb claims to have made a Dutch song out of that traditional melody in 2001, called "Pizzahaha", explaining that at that moment, he was taking part in the Dutch television show ''Big Diet'', in which contestants had to lose as much weight as they could over a few months. Dikeb further claims to have come up with the idea to use the names of his favourite fast-food restaurants in the song. Pizzahaha did not make it to the Dutch charts, but in Belgium the band Dynamite made a big hit out of it, with a Belgian version called "De Pizzadans". Stock Aitken Waterman (abbreviated as SAW) are an English songwriting and record production trio consisting of Mike Stock, Matt Aitken, and Pete Waterman. The trio had great success from the mid-1980s through the early 1990s. SAW is considered one of the most successful songwriting and producing partnerships of all time, scoring more than 100 UK top 40 hits, selling 40 million records and earning an estimated £60 million (about $104 million).
