Graham Polak
Graham Polak (born 16 June 1984) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Fremantle Football Club and the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Fremantle career Polak began his AFL career with the Fremantle Football Club after being drafted from East Fremantle in the WAFL with the fourth selection in the 2001 AFL Draft (behind future stars of the game Luke Hodge, Luke Ball and Chris Judd.) He made his debut in round 1, 2002 in a Western Derby against the West Coast Eagles which Fremantle lost. In 2003 he had his best season to date, only missing one game (round 3) and playing in Fremantle's first ever finals match. He was nominated for the AFL Rising Star award in Round 9 and finished second in the end of year voting behind Sam Mitchell and ahead of Luke Ball and Daniel Wells. Justin Longmuir
Justin Longmuir (born 21 January 1981) is a former Australian rules footballer who is the current senior coach of the Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League. Longmuir played for Fremantle between 1999 and 2007. Playing career Fremantle Football Club Longmuir was recruited by the Fremantle Football Club as the number 2 draft pick in the 1998 AFL Draft (from West Perth Football Club) and made his debut in Round 22, 1999, against Geelong at Shell Stadium. Longmuir played for Fremantle Football Club from 1999 until 2007, where he played a total of 139 games as a forward and ruckman, kicking 166 goals. 2009 AFL Season
The 2009 AFL season was the 113th season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. David Gourdis (born 14 March 1989) was an Australian rules football player for the Richmond Football Club. He was overlooked at the 2007 AFL draft, despite ranking no.1 in the 20m sprint (2.3 sec), and ranked no.1 in the running vertical jump (101 cm), at the AFL Draft Camp in Canberra. The same year in December 2007, the Richmond Football Club selected Gourdis with their number 1 pick in the 2007 Pre-Season Draft. Benjamin Luke Cousins (born 30 June 1978) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for and in the Australian Football League (AFL). Cousins is listed by journalist Mike Sheahan as one of the fifty greatest players of all time. In Australian sport, the best and fairest award recognises the player(s) adjudged to have had the best performance in a game or over a season for a given sporting club or competition. The awards are sometimes dependent on not receiving a suspension for misconduct or breaching the rules during that season. In the Australian Football League (AFL), the Brownlow Medal is awarded to the player who, provided he has not been suspended during the season, receives the most votes from the umpires for being the Fairest and Best player in games during the home and away season. In each game, the umpires award three votes to the player they judge to be the best afield in that game, two votes to the second-best player and one vote to the third-best player.
