Graham Bickley
Graham John Bickley (born 18 May 1958) is an English actor and singer. He is best known for playing the role of Joey Boswell in ''Bread'' from 1989 until 1991, taking over from Peter Howitt, who played him from 1986 until 1989. Early life Bickley was born into a Welsh family in Liverpool, England. His father was a primary school deputy headmaster and his mother was a special needs teacher. His older sister Susan Bickley is an opera singer with the English National Opera and the Welsh National Opera. Bickley and his sister first began singing in church as children, accompanied by their father on the organ. Bickley attended the Liverpool Blue Coat School, and studied at The Liverpool Theatre School. Career Bickley made his West End theatre debut in 1981 in ''They're Playing Our Song''. ''Which Witch'' is a musical written by Norwegian singers/composers Benedicte Adrian and Ingrid Bjørnov. The storyline for ''Which Witch'' was derived from the witch finder's manual ''Malleus Maleficarum'', and the original script was written by Adrian and Bjørnov's manager Ole A. Sørli. The lyrics of the early concert versions were written by Helen Hampton in collaboration with Adrian, Bjørnov and Sørli. The first performance was in Grieghallen, Bergen on May 27, 1987, with Adrian playing the female lead, and Bjørnov as musical director. ''No Trams to Lime Street'' is a 1959 British television play, written by the Welsh playwright Alun Owen for the ''Armchair Theatre'' anthology series. Produced by ABC Weekend TV for transmission on the ITV network, the play was broadcast on 18 October 1959. The original version no longer exists. Set in the northern English city of Liverpool, where Owen had grown up from the age of eight, the play starred Alfred Lynch, Billie Whitelaw, Jack Hedley and Tom Bell. It was directed and produced by two Canadians—Ted Kotcheff and Sydney Newman respectively. Newman was at the time the Head of Drama at ABC. The storyline concerns three sailors on shore leave in Liverpool.
