Graeme Hall (dog Trainer)
Graeme Hall, also known as The Dogfather (born 1966 in Selby, Yorkshire) is a British dog trainer, podcaster, and author. He is the star of the television series ''Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly'' broadcast since 2017 and The Dog Hospital with Graeme Hall both shown on Channel 5 in the UK and on CBC Television in Canada. Hall is a ''Master Dog Trainer'' and a member of the Guild Of Dog Trainers. In 2022, he began writing a regular column for ''The Times''. He also hosted a podcast, ''Talking Dogs'', and appeared on ''Mastermind'', '' The Chase'' and ''University Challenge''. In 2023, he starred in the Australian version of ''Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly'', which premiered on 13 July 2023 on Network 10. Hall is a graduate of the University of Hull. Selby, Yorkshire
Selby is a market town and civil parishes in England, civil parish in the Selby District of North Yorkshire, England, south of York on the River Ouse, Yorkshire, River Ouse, with a population at the 2011 census of 14,731. Dog training is the application of behavior analysis which uses the environmental events of antecedents (trigger for a behavior) and consequences to modify the dog behavior, either for it to assist in specific activities or undertake particular tasks, or for it to participate effectively in contemporary domestic life. While training dogs for specific roles dates back to Roman times at least, the training of dogs to be compatible household pets developed with suburbanization in the 1950s. A dog learns from interactions it has with its environment. This can be through classical conditioning, where it forms an association between two stimuli; non-associative learning, where its behavior is modified through habituation or sensitisation; and operant conditioning, where it forms an association between an antecedent and its consequence. ''University Challenge'' is a British television quiz programme which first aired in 1962. ''University Challenge'' aired for 913 episodes on ITV from 21 September 1962 to 31 December 1987, presented by quizmaster Bamber Gascoigne. The BBC revived the programme on 21 September 1994 with Jeremy Paxman as the quizmaster.
