Grace Lee (director)
Grace Lee is an American director and producer. She is known for both her documentaries and narrative films, which often mix in elements of documentaries. Biography Lee is of Korean heritage and from Columbia, Missouri. She originally wanted to be a journalist, but after interviewing sex workers in South Korea, she realized that she could tell better stories through film. Back in the United States, she enrolled in UCLA. She now lives in Los Angeles, California. Career Her first short, ''Girl Meets Boy'' was, according to Lee, a two-minute "response to those who have questioned my ability to speak loudly and in English". In 2000, she won a UCLA Spotlight Award for her short film ''The Ride Home''. '' Barrier Device'', her master's thesis, stars Sandra Oh and won a silver medal at the 29th Student Academy Awards. ''American Zombie'' is a 2007 American mockumentary horror film directed by Grace Lee, written by Rebecca Sonnenshine and Lee, and starring Lee and John Solomon as documentary filmmakers who investigate a fictional subculture of real-life zombies living in Los Angeles. Plot John Solomon, a documentary filmmaker, recruits Grace Lee to investigate the zombie subculture of Los Angeles. Solomon is convinced that the zombies are dangerous and wishes to expose them, but Lee takes a more sympathetic view. Asian Americans are Americans of Asian ancestry (including naturalized Americans who are immigrants from specific regions in Asia and descendants of such immigrants). Grace Lee Boggs
Grace Lee Boggs (June 27, 1915 – October 5, 2015) was an American author, social activist, philosopher, and feminist. She is known for her years of political collaboration with C. L. R. James and Raya Dunayevskaya in the 1940s and 1950s. In the 1960s, she and James Boggs, her husband of some forty years, took their own political direction. By 1998, she had written four books, including an autobiography. In 2011, still active at the age of 95, she wrote a fifth book, ''The Next American Revolution: Sustainable Activism for the Twenty-First Century'', with Scott Kurashige and published by the University of California Press. Voters of the Republican Party elected state delegations to the 2012 Republican National Convention in presidential primaries. The national convention then selected its nominee to run for President of the United States in the 2012 presidential election. There were 2,286 delegates chosen, and a candidate needed to accumulate 1,144 delegate votes at the convention to win the nomination. The caucuses allocated delegates to the respective state delegations to the national convention, but the actual election of the delegates were, many times, at a later date.
