Grace Grung
Hjørdis Grace Grung (née Lehmann, December 2, 1895 – November 14, 1988) was a Norwegian actress. Career Grace Grung performed in two one-act plays for the Norwegian Broadcasting Company in 1925. Grung appeared in four film roles between 1931 and 1957. She made her film debut in Tancred Ibsen's ''Den store barnedåpen''. Family Grung was the daughter of the shopkeeper Harald Martin Lehmann (1863–1947) and his wife Inger (1871–?). In 1920 she married the architect Leif Grung (1894–1945), with whom she had a son, Geir Grung (1926–1989). She is not to be confused with Leif Grung's cousin, the actress Grace Elisabeth Grung (1889–1974). Grace Elisabeth Grung
Grace Elisabeth Grung (May 5, 1889 – February 4, 1974) was a Norwegian actress. Family Grace Elisabeth Grung was the daughter of Arnt Henrik Grung (1859–1924), an office manager at a steamship shipping company, and Grace Elisabeth Simonsen (1855–1899). She was unmarried. She was a cousin of the architect Leif Grung, not to be confused with his wife, the actress Grace Grung. Career Grace Elisabeth Grung debuted at the National Theater in 1909 and was intermittently engaged with that theater until the summer of 1919. She then toured with Agnes Mowinckel's ensemble and performed with the experimental Intimate Theater ( no, Intimteatret). ''To mistenkelige personer'' (Two Suspects) is a Norwegian crime drama from 1950 directed by Tancred Ibsen. The film is about the murder of two sheriffs in Norway and the subsequent hunt for the criminals. The script is based on Gunnar Larsen's 1933 novel ''To mistenkelige personer'' (Two Suspects). The novel is loosely based on a real incident that happened in Ådal in 1926. The film was banned from being shown in Norway for reasons of privacy. The verdict was upheld until the end of the 1990s. Background The film adaptation of the book is based on the true story of the sheriffs' murders at Vågård, an event that took place at Vågård in Ytre Ådal on August 22, 1926, when two sheriffs from Ringerike tried to arrest two safe blowers and robbers. ''Jeg drepte!'' (I Have Killed!) is a Norwegian film directed by Toralf Sandø. It premiered on August 17, 1942. Plot A doctor is operating on a male patient. Under anesthesia, the man reveals that he is in a relationship with the doctor's wife. After the operation, complications arise, the man dies, and the doctor is convinced that he is the one that killed the man. In order to rid himself of the obsession, the hospital decides that he should do a similar operation and succeed with it. ''Den store barnedåpen'' (The Great Christening) is a 1931 Norway, Norwegian comedy film. It was directed by Tancred Ibsen and featured Einar Sissener, Aase Bye and Unni Torkildsen. It was the first feature-length Norwegian sound film. It was based on the 1925 play of the same name written by Oskar Braaten (1881–1939). The lacklustre Harald (Sissener) is taken in by Alvilde (Bye), and charged with looking after her bastard child. It soon dawns on both of them that Harald has more potential than previously assumed. Tancred Ibsen
Tancred Ibsen (11 July 1893 – 4 December 1978) was a Norwegian military officer, aviator, film director and screenwriter. Background Ibsen was the son of Sigurd Ibsen and Bergljot Bjørnson. He was the grandson of both Henrik Ibsen and Nobel laureate Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson. He married dancer and actress Lillebil Ibsen in 1919, and remained married to her until his death in 1978. His son Tancred Ibsen, Jr. (1921–2015) was a Norwegian diplomat. Aviation career In 1917, Tancred Ibsen started pilot training at Kjeller Airport and began his career in the Norwegian Army Air Service. He started the first civilian active airplane company, ''A/S Aero'' in 1920, financed by his uncle, businessman Einar Bjørnson, and two shipowners. Kringkastingsselskapet A/S ("The Broadcasting Company") was Norway's first radio broadcasting service and operated out of Oslo from 1925 until 1933, when it was taken over by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK).
