History The club was founded on June 1, 1914 by the Uruguayan Bertoni brothers, after watching a game between America and a Campos combined team, won by 3-1 by the former. The club was originally planned to be named América Football Club, after America of Rio de Janeiro. In 2002, Americano won both the Taça Guanabara and the Taça Rio, but was defeated by Fluminense in both legs (2-0 and 3-1) of the Campeonato Carioca final. picture info	Goitacá People The Goitacá (or Goytacazes, among other variant spellings "Waytaquazes" "Ouetacá", "Waitaká") were an indigenous people of Brazil. They are now extinct. The Goitacá were a "Tapuia" (i.e. non-Tupi) people, one of the few that still remained on the Tupi-dominated coast. They were said to be taller and lighter-skinned than the Tupi. Their name may stem from ''guatá'', the Tupi word for "wayfarer" or "runner". In the 16th century, the Goitacá inhabited a large stretch of the eastern Brazilian coast, from the São Mateus River to the Paraíba do Sul River, encompassing what is now the state of Espírito Santo and part of Rio de Janeiro state. They are estimated to have numbered 12,000. Unlike their Tupi neighbors, the Goitacá were a hunter-gatherer people. 	Arizão Estádio Ary de Oliveira e Souza, usually known as Arizão, is a multi-use stadium located in Campos dos Goytacazes, Brazil. It is used mostly for football matches and hosts the home matches of Goytacaz Futebol Clube. The stadium has a maximum capacity of 15,000 people and was built in 1938.
