Govind Poddar
Govinda Bhaktiranjan Poddar (born 9 September 1991) is an Indian cricketer. Poddar is a right-handed batsman who also bowls right-arm off break. He has played first-class and List A cricket for Odisha, East Zone and India A. Govinda Poddar is one of those rare cricketers to have scored a hundred on his first class debut. It happened against Baroda in November 2010. And List A debut against Tripura in 2009. Since then he has been a regular in the Odisha Ranji Trophy side. He is very prolific and consistent batsman throughout and across all format for Odisha. This man from Rourkela (Sundergarh) was handed over the captaincy for the shorter formats at the start of 2016 and then took over captaincy for the 2016-17 Ranji season. The East Zone cricket team is a first-class cricket team that represents eastern India in the Duleep Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Inter Zonal. The India A cricket team is a national cricket team representing India. It is the second-tier of Indian international cricket, below the full India national cricket team. The team is currently captained by Priyank Panchal in first-class cricket and Sanju Samson in List A cricket. The team is coached by former Saurashtra player Shitanshu Kotak. First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all.
