Governor Of Sool
The Governor of Sool () is the chief executive of the Sool, leading the region's executive branch. Overview Sool is claimed by both Somaliland and Puntland, with each government appointing a Governor of Sool. As of 2022, most of Sool is effectively controlled by Somaliland. Therefore, the authority of the Governor of Sool in Somaliland and the Governor of Sool in Puntland are quite different. Somaliland, which declared its independence in 1991, claimed the entire area of former British Somaliland, including Sool. In 1998, Puntland declared itself a founding state and declared the inhabited area of Darod in northeastern Somalia as its territory, including Sool. Since then, the ownership of Sool has been ambiguous, but with Puntland's occupation of Sool's capital Las Anod in 2002, much of the area became under Puntland's effective control. However, the position was reversed when Somaliland occupied Las Anod in 2007. After losing Las Anod, Puntland was based in Tukaraq to its e ...

Politics Of Somaliland
The politics of Somaliland take place within a hybrid system of governance, which, under the Somaliland constitution, combines traditional and western institutions. The constitution separates government into an executive branch, a legislative branch, and a judicial branch, each of which functions independently from the others. History For its first twelve years, Somaliland had no political parties but instead followed more traditional clan-based forms of political organization. Political parties were introduced during the presidential elections and it was hoped that the recent parliamentary elections would help to usher in a representative system without allowing representation to be overtly clan-based. District elections then held determined which parties were allowed to contest the parliamentary and presidential elections, where a party was required to demonstrate at least twenty percent of the popular vote from four out of the six regions. This was designed to ensure that pa ...

SSC (militia)
SSC or HMB-SSC ( so, Haggaanka Mideynta iyo Badbaadinta Gobolada SSC ee Soomalia, Unity and Salvation Authority of the SSC regions of Somalia) or HBM-SSC ( so, Hoggaanka Badbaadada iyo Mideynta SSC) was the name of the self-proclaimed autonomous government of the Dhulbahante clan living between Somaliland and Puntland, which was active from 2009 to around 2012. It claimed possession of the so-called SSC regions of Sool(S), Sanaag(S), and Cayn(C). Initially, the HBM-SSC's goal was to become a constituent state of the Federal Republic of Somalia with the support of the foreign diaspora. Still, it was not recognized by both neighboring Somaliland and Puntland, and through fighting with Somaliland, it became a mere militia organization. It also lost support from the Dhulbahante clan. And ended its activities when the president of the HBM-SSC joined the Somaliland government. It is sometimes referred to as the SSC militia because it was a de facto militia organization except in the ear ...

Executive (government)
The Executive, also referred as the Executive branch or Executive power, is the term commonly used to describe that part of government which enforces the law, and has overall responsibility for the governance of a state. In political systems based on the separation of powers, such as the USA, government authority is distributed between several branches in order to prevent power being concentrated in the hands of a single person or group. To achieve this, each branch is subject to checks by the other two; in general, the role of the Legislature is to pass laws, which are then enforced by the Executive, and interpreted by the Judiciary. The Executive can be also be the source of certain types of law, such as a decree or executive order. In those that use fusion of powers, typically Parliamentary systems, the Executive forms the government and its members generally belong to the political party that controls the legislature or "Parliament". Since the Executive requires the suppor ...
