Yap State, also known in the Yapese language as Nam nu Wa'ab (lit. "Island of Yap") or simply as Wa'ab, is one of the four states of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). The other states are Kosrae State, Pohnpei State, and Chuuk State. Henry S. Falan is a Micronesians, Micronesian politician and the former Governor of Yap from January 19, 2019, to December 17, 2022. Falan was removed from his position as governor by the Yap State, Yap state legislature. Jesse Salalu, his former Lieutenant Governor, took his place as Governor of Yap. Before governorship Falan first served in Yap District Legislature in 1977. He later served as Director of Department of Education of Yap from 1996 to 2004. Anefal (born January 21, 1952 in Guror, Gilman, Yap, Gilman municipality, Yap, Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands) is a Federated States of Micronesia, Micronesian politician currently serving as the FSM Ambassador Plenipotentiary to Fiji. He was nominated by President Peter M. Christian to his current post in mid-2015 and took office on January 8, 2016. He became the foreign minister of the Federated States of Micronesia on September 5, 2003, when his nomination was approved by the Micronesian Congress. Robert Ruecho is a Federated States of Micronesia, Micronesian politician and diplomat. Ruecho served as the Governor of Yap, one of the Administrative divisions of the Federated States of Micronesia, four states which make up the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), from 2003 to 2007. He became the Consul-General for FSM on neighboring Guam on October 17, 2011. Robert Ruecho was elected Governor of Yap in the 2002 gubernatorial election and took office in 2003.
