The Governor of Jujuy ( es, Gobernador de la Provincia de Jujuy) is a citizen of Jujuy Province, in Argentina, holding the office of governor for the corresponding period. Gerardo Morales (politician)
Gerardo Rubén Morales (born 18 July 1959) is an Argentine politician, Governor of Jujuy Province and Secretary General of the Radical Civic Union. He was a member of the Argentine Senate representing Jujuy Province, elected for the Front of Jujuy. He was a candidate for Vice President of Argentina on Roberto Lavagna's UNA ticket in the 2007 elections. Since 2015, he has been Governor of Jujuy, the first non- Peronist elected to the post since the restoration of democracy. Biography Morales was born in Jujuy Province. He worked on the Ferrocarril General Manuel Belgrano railway as a waiter at age 18, and was promoted to the post of administrator. He enrolled at the National University of Jujuy, where he earned a degree in Accountancy. Morales was later appointed Director of Liquidations at the Provincial Insurance Institute. The Legislature of Jujuy Province ( es, Legislatura la Provincia de Jujuy) is the unicameral legislative body of Jujuy Province, in Argentina. It convenes in the provincial capital, San Salvador de Jujuy. It comprises 48 legislators elected in a single multi-member province-wide district through proportional representation using the D'Hondt method. Members are elected by halves in staggered elections for four-year terms every two years. There is, in addition, a 30% gender quota for female candidates in party lists. The Legislature is presided by the vice governor of Jujuy, who is elected alongside the governor every four years. The Radical Civic Union ( es, Unión Cívica Radical, UCR) is a centrist and social-liberal political party in Argentina. It has been ideologically heterogeneous, ranging from social liberalism to social democracy. The UCR is a member of the Socialist International. Guillermo Raúl Jenefes (born 7 September 1950, San Salvador de Jujuy) is an Argentine Justicialist Party politician. He sat in the Argentine Senate representing Jujuy Province in the majority block of the Front for Victory. Jenefes was educated at schools in Jujuy and at the National University of Córdoba and he graduated as a lawyer specialising in banking law in 1973. He completed his military service with the 5th Tucumán Infantry Brigade, returning to Jujuy to practise law and teach. Walter Basilio Barrionuevo (born 28 February 1954) is an Argentine Justicialist Party (PJ) politician, and governor of Jujuy Province. Born in Frías, Santiago del Estero Province, Barrionuevo enrolled at the National University of Tucumán, where he earned a law degree in 1976. He relocated to Jujuy Province, and between 1989 and 1990 was appointed Minister of Government, Justice, and Education by Governor Ricardo de Aparici. He returned to Santiago del Estero as President of the Supreme Justice Tribunal from 1994 to 1995. Eduardo Alfredo Fellner (born 16 June 1954) is an Argentine Peronist politician. He was President of the Argentine Chamber of Deputies and governor of Jujuy Province for two terms. Life and times Fellner was born in Río Tercero, Córdoba, and was raised in Villa Palpalá, Jujuy Province, where his father had found work in the Zapla steel mill, the country's oldest and largest.
