Governor's Mansion (Bohol)
Bohol Governor's Mansion, otherwise known as the People's Mansion, is the official residence of the Governor of Bohol in the Philippines. Since the 2013 Bohol earthquake, it now hosts to the office of the governor, as the century-old Capitol is undergoing repairs and earthquake-proofing. History Then Governor (later President) Carlos P. Garcia first conceived the idea of having an official residence under his governorship, who used the facility as his living quarters while in Tagbilaran. As the building was of prominence, it was used by high-ranking officials of the Japanese Imperial Army as their residence during their stay in the province. However, the residence fell into relative disuse after the war, since most governors preferred to commute back to their homes in the capital or hometowns. Governor's Mansion (Tobolsk, Russia)
The Governor's Mansion (russian: Дом губернатора), also known as Kuklin House (russian: Дом Куклина) is a building in Tobolsk, Russia. It was the home of the governor of Siberia prior to the February Revolution of 1917. The house, which is located on 10, Mira Street (russian: Улица Мира) in the area of Tobolsk below the Kremlin (''Podgora''), is protected by Russian Federal government as a historical monument. History The house was built by merchant Ivan Kuklin in the 1790s, after a disastrous fire of 1788 which destroyed the major part of Podgora. Kuklin went bankrupt in 1817, and the house was confiscated by the authorities. Since 1817, it was the seat of the governor of Tobolsk Governorate. Governor's Mansion (Marshall, Michigan)
The Governor's Mansion at 621 S. Marshall Ave. in Marshall, Michigan is a historic house built in 1839 with elements of Greek Revival architecture. It is also known as Governor's Mansion Museum. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. In 2017, the house is a museum owned and operated by the Mary Marshall Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. History In 1839, Marshall citizen James Wright Gordon, recently elected to the state senate, began agitating for Marshall to be designated as the state capital. In expectation, Gordon purchased land across from where the Capitol was proposed to be built and constructed this house. It has been referred to as the "Governor's Mansion" since its construction. The Governor's Mansion in Shawnee, Oklahoma was built in 1903, on the speculation that Shawnee would be selected as the state capital and that this structure would become the Governor's official residence when Oklahoma became a state.
