Alf Gover
Alfred Richard Gover (29 February 1908 – 7 October 2001) was an English Test cricketer. He was the mainstay of the Surrey bowling attack during the 1930s and played four Tests before and after the Second World War. He also founded and ran a cricket school in Wandsworth that coached many notable players. "Good cricket was a crusade for one of the game's kindest men" wrote the cricket correspondent, Colin Bateman, about Gover's long-standing coaching exploits. Playing career Alf Gover was born in Epsom, Surrey in 1908. A fast right-hand bowler with a deadly outswinger and a cleverly disguised breakback, Gover began bowling at a young age and was first taken on trial by Essex in July 1926. He bowled Johnny Douglas at the nets several times and travelled with Essex as twelfth man to The Oval in 1927. Janet Gover (b. Melbourne, Australia) is an Australian writer of over a dozen romance novels and more than 20 short stories since 2002. Her work has won numerous awards in the UK and the US, including the Romantic Novelists' Association's Epic Romantic Novel of the Year (2017) and Elizabeth Goudge Trophy (2007). Roy Henry Gover
Roy Henry Gover (1929–2003) was a British painter and composer that was born in London in 1929. He emigrated to the United States (San Francisco Bay Area) in 1959. His work was the subject of a major one-man retrospective at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (1971). Early career Gover's original training was in commercial art. He graduated from the prestigious Willesden School of Art in North London, no longer extant. He worked in the advertising art trade in London and married (Jean), before the couple emigrated. In America they had two children (Kate and Jane). Gover continued to work in advertising art in the Bay Area but gradually found himself growing more compelled to pursue fine painting. The marriage ended and Gover struck out on his own as a painter, still doing random commercial work while trying to build a fine art career. His first novel, ''One Hundred Dollar Misunderstanding'', a satire on American racism, remains a cult classic that helped break down America's fear of four-letter words and sexually explicit scenes, as well as sensitizing Americans to sanctimonious hypocrisy. Gover Jaspes Le Buen (29 January 1639 - 16 June 1712) was born in Maastricht, Netherlands he is known as a revolutionary fighter during the Franco-Dutch War of 1672-1678. He is rarely known because of his hidden identity during his undercover missions of 1673. Early history Gover Jaspes Le Buen was born in Maastricht, Netherlands to Pierre-Janko Le Buen and Marie Croche . Pierre-Janko was born in Rotterdam and Marie was born somewhere between the Holy Roman Empire and Venice. Gover was taught at home by his mother but a spell of tuberculosis took her life somewhere in 1650c.
