Dimitrios Gounaris
Dimitrios Gounaris (; 5 January 1867 – 28 November 1922) was a Greek politician who served as the Prime Minister of Greece from 25 February to 10 August 1915 and 26 March 1921 to 3 May 1922. Leader of the People's Party (Greece), People's Party, he was the main right-wing politics, right-wing opponent of his contemporary Eleftherios Venizelos. Early life He studied law at Athens University and continued his studies in Germany, France and England, before returning to his native Patras. He was elected deputy for Achaea in 1902 and distinguished himself as an orator and a member of the so-called "Japanese Group" that opposed the Georgios Theotokis government in 1906–1908. Gounaris himself, however, joined the government in 1908 as Finance Minister, hoping to implement a reformist program, thereby causing the dissolution of the group, although he was soon forced to resign. Ioannis Gounaris
Giannis Gounaris (Greek: Γιάννης Γούναρης; born 6 July 1952) is a Greek retired footballer and coach. Career Born in Thessaloniki, Gounaris was a right back who played for PAOK FC and Olympiacos FC in the 1970s and 80s. He earned 27 caps for the Greece National team, and participated in Euro 1980. In the early 1970s Gounaris became known for his plowing runs down the whole right wing, transitioning defence into offence. His partnership with PAOK's left fullback Kostas Iosifidis became formidable not only for PAOK, but for the Greece national team as well. The two backs played a vital role in the team that won PAOK its first ever championship. The duo would go on to play in seven cup finals for PAOK, from 1970 through to 1978. Nikos Gounaris
Nikos Gounaris ( el, Νίκος Γούναρης; Zagora, 1915 – 5 May 1965 in Athens) was a Greek tenor who was enormously popular as a "pop" singer in the 1950s. Biography Gounaris began playing the mandolin at the age of four. He attended the musical Conservatory of Music in Athens. Gounaris was a Greek elafró singer and among the foremost Greek composers and musicians of the 1950s and 1960s. He was especially popular in the Greek community in America. A great deal of his entertainment was at two Greek resorts in the Catskills in upstate NY, the Sunset and the Monte Carlo. He mainly sang about the sad side of love, and betrayed lovers. Hit songs included "Ena vradi pou 'vrehe," "Glikia mou matia agapimena," and "Omorfi Athina". He composed about 400 songs and played with the Trio Bel Canto during the 1960s.
