John Charles Goudie (born October 14, 1968, Coral Gables, Florida) is a Cuban-American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumental musician, record producer, actor, and podcaster based in Austin, Texas. Over his five-decade career, he has received acclaim for his unique vocals and a musical style rooted in classic rock. Andrew Shaw Goudie (born 21 August 1945, in Cheltenham) is a geographer at the University of Oxford specialising in desert geomorphology, dust storms, weathering, and climatic change in the tropics. He is also known for his teaching and best-selling textbooks on human impacts on the environment. He is the author, co-author, editor, or co-editor of forty-one books (many of which have appeared in numerous editions) and more than two hundred papers published in learned journals. Sandra Anne Goudie (born 1952) is a New Zealand politician. She was the mayor of Thames-Coromandel from 2016 to 2022 when she resigned. Alexander Goudie (11 November 1933 – 9 March 2004) was a Scottish figurative painter. Education and Training Alexander Goudie was born in the Renfrewshire town of Paisley, Scotland, in 1933. He studied at the Glasgow School of Art under William Armour, David Donaldson, and Benno Schotz. There he was awarded the Somerville Shanks Prize for Composition. For many years he was a tutor at the school, before dedicating himself to his own studio work. Goudie was an American glam rock band from Austin, Texas, fronted by Johnny Goudie. Goudie started in 1996 as a solo project of frontman Johnny Goudie. In 1997 Johnny's friend Einar Pedersen (who was also a member of Jez Spencer with Johnny Goudie) joined on bass and Bill Lefler replaced the original drummer Kyle Schneider, and Jimmy Messer was brought in as lead guitarist. In the Spring of 1998, after only being together nine months, and still without a band name, the group played a showcase during the South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas. Rather than playing a single showscase at a traditional venue, the band rented rehearsal space and played seven showcases throughout the day. Frank "Big Boy" Goudie (September 13, 1899 – January 9, 1964) was an American jazz trumpeter, alto and tenor saxophonist and clarinetist. Goudie was born in Youngsville, Louisiana, United States, 150 miles west of New Orleans in the area of the state known as Cajun country, where he lived until age of eight. (It is likely he learned to speak French while growing up there, which would be useful later in his life.) His family then moved to New Orleans, where he began playing cornet, possibly studying with Bunk Johnson. He became proficient enough to find work with local bands such as Papa Celestin's Original Tuxedo Band and the Magnolia Band - two top bands in New Orleans at that time. Lachlan Goudie (born 1976) is a Scottish artist and television presenter. Early life Lachlan Goudie was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1976, the son of Scottish figurative painter Alexander Goudie. He was educated at the Kelvinside Academy, after which he studied English Literature at Cambridge University. Following this, he was awarded the Levy-Plumb scholarship of a year's painting residency at Christ's College, Cambridge. Career Goudie was awarded the R. S. P. Gordon Goudie (born 12 August 1987) is a Scottish cricketer. He currently plays for Scottish League side Mazars Grange CC as well as for the Scotland national cricket team. Goudie made his One Day International (ODI) debut in July 2008, and in February 2010 played his first Twenty20 International. In December 2008, Goudie became one of the first three players to be awarded a contract with Cricket Scotland as the board looked to increase professionalism.
