Gottfrid Billing
Axel ''Gottfrid'' Leonard Billing (29 April 1841 – 14 January 1925) was a Swedish cleric and theologian who served as a member of the Swedish Academy, member of the Första kammaren in the Riksdag and served as Bishop of Lund from 1898 until 1925. Early life Billing was born at Önnestad in Kristianstad Municipality, the son of Magnus Billing and Hedvig Charlotta Collin. In the early 1860s Billing enrolled as a theology student at Lund University. Billing represented a very conservative political view that has sometimes been called ''Oscarian'' after King Oscar II. In 1881 he became professor of practical theology at Lund University. Bishop In 1884, he was appointed Bishop of Västerås and was consecrated on 7 September 1884 by Archbishop Anton Niklas Sundberg. Kristianstad Municipality
Kristianstad Municipality (''Kristianstads kommun'') is a municipality in Scania County in southernmost Sweden. Its seat is located in the city Kristianstad. The present municipality was created in three steps during the last nationwide local government reform, and it has the largest area of the municipalities of Skåne County. In 1967 a number of rural municipalities were merged into the ''City of Kristianstad''. In 1971 more former units were added and the city became a unitary municipality. Finally in 1974, the last amalgamations took place, and the municipality reached its present size. The number of original entities (as of 1863) is 35. Johan August Ekman
Johan August Ekman (26 November 1845, Hjälstad - 1913) was Archbishop of Uppsala, Sweden, 1900–1913. Biography Johan Ekman was the son of Olof Ekman and Maria, born Johansdotter. He was a student of theology at the University of Uppsala receiving his Licentiate of Theology in 1870 and was ordained into the priesthood in 1873. He was earned his Bachelor of Theology (''teol. kand.'') in 1876. He became a professor of theology at Uppsala University in 1887 and received his Doctor of Theology (''dr. theol.'') in 1893. Thereafter he worked as a vicar and held other church offices. He was elected Bishop of the Diocese of Västerås in 1898; and appointed Archbishop of Uppsala in 1900. Betty Ehrenborg
Betty Ehrenborg, married name Posse af Säby (22 July 1818 – 22 July 1880), was a Swedish writer, psalm writer and pedagogue. She is regarded as the founder of the Swedish Sunday school. Life Katarina Elisabeth (nicknamed Betty) Ehrenborg was the daughter of the noble Parliamentary Ombudsman Casper Ehrenborg and the writer Anna Fredrica Carlqvist. She was raised at the family estate Råbäck at Kinnekulle. Her sister Maria Ulrika (Ulla) Ehrenborg was the wife of Bishop Ebbe Gustaf Bring. In 1842, she and her mother moved to Uppsala to be near her brother, Richard, who studied at Uppsala University. In Uppsala, she attended several of the university lectures, though she was merely a member of the civil audience and not a student, and she became a part of the Uppsala intellectual life of the 1840s. Ebbe Gustaf Bring
Ebbe Gustaf Bring (4 July 1814 – 13 August 1884) was a Swedish bishop in the Church of Sweden and theologian. Biography Bring was born in Askersund, Örebro County in 1814, to city physician and assessor Sven Håkan Bring and Ulrika (Ulla) Sofia Silfverswärd. He married Maria Ulrika (Ulla) Ehrenborg, sister of writer Betty Ehrenborg, in 1841. Bring was the father of lawyer as well as grandfather of artist Maj Bring; he was also cousin of . Bring enrolled at Uppsala University in 1829 and at Lund University in 1832, where he obtained a master's degree in philosophy in 1835. Bring was appointed docent in dogmatic theology and moral theology in 1837 and ordained the same year. In 1844 he was appointed adjunct theology professor and in the same year provost of his own parishes. The Royal Order of the Seraphim ( sv, Kungliga Serafimerorden; ''Seraphim'' being a category of angels) is a Swedish order of chivalry created by King Frederick I on 23 February 1748, together with the Order of the Sword and the Order of the Polar Star. The order has only one class with the dignity of ''Knight'' (''Member'' for women and ''Member of the Cloth'' for clergymen), and is the foremost order of Sweden.
