Got Talent Uruguay (season 1)
The first season of ''Got Talent Uruguay'', an Uruguayan talent show competition, was broadcast in Uruguay during 2020, from June 22 to December 7 on Channel 10. The judging panel was formed by Orlando Petinatti, María Noel Riccetto, Claudia Fernández and Agustín Casanova. Alongside the main programme, the first series was accompanied by a spin-off sister programme on the same station, titled ''Amamos el Talento'', hosted by Noelia Etcheverry and Kairo Herrera. The first series was won by opera singer Diego Coronel. Season Overview The idea to produce an Uruguayan adaptation of the international franchise, created by Simon Cowell emerged in March 2019. On July 30 of that year, it was confirmed that actress Natalia Oreiro. Natalia Oreiro
Natalia Marisa Oreiro Iglesias (; born 19 May 1977) is a Uruguayan actress, singer, songwriter, model, television presenter and fashion designer. Oreiro began her career in telenovelas. Since 2008 she has switched to work primarily in films. Oreiro has worked on social awareness shows and events for organizations like Greenpeace and UNICEF, the latter of which designated her as List of UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, ambassador for Argentina and Uruguay in September 2011. She has been included in Esquire (magazine), ''Esquire'' magazine's "The Sexiest Woman Alive Atlas" list. Durazno
Durazno is the capital city of the department of Durazno in Uruguay. Durazno is characterized by being the most central city of Uruguay. It has a population of more than 30,000 inhabitants. In the past it was the capital of Uruguay; today the capital is Montevideo. COVID-19 Pandemic In Uruguay
The COVID-19 pandemic in Uruguay has resulted in confirmed cases of COVID-19 and deaths. The first cases in Uruguay were reported on 13 March 2020 by the Ministry of Public Health. The early cases were imported from Italy and Spain, with some local transmissions. The majority of early cases were traced to a wedding with 500 people in attendance in Montevideo, attended by a Uruguayan fashion designer who returned from Spain and later tested positive. Various containment measures were introduced in mid-March, and major restrictions on movement followed in late March. Uruguay is one of the few countries in Latin America to have been able to avoid large outbreaks for a considerable amount of time due to their closing of borders with neighboring countries. Punta del Este () is a seaside city and peninsula on the Atlantic Coast in the Maldonado Department of southeastern Uruguay. Paysandú
Paysandú () is the capital of Paysandú Department in western Uruguay. Location The city is located on the banks of the Uruguay River, which forms the border with Argentina. It lies northwest of Montevideo via Route 1 and Route 3, on the junction of the latter with Route 90. As of the census of 2011 it was the fourth-most populated city of the country. Canelones, Uruguay
Canelones () is the capital of the department of Canelones in Uruguay. Its name is derived from a species of cinnamon, which is called "canelón", growing along the banks of the homonymous river. Since 2010, the city is also the seat of the municipality of Canelones. Location The city is located on Route 5 about North of Montevideo and on its intersection with Route 64. It lies on the west bank of the river Arroyo Canelón Chico. History It was founded on 24 April 1783 under the name "Villa Guadalupe". Uruguay consists of 19 departments (''departamentos''). Each department has a legislature called a Departmental Board. The ''Intendente'' is the department's chief executive. History The first division of the Republic into six departments occurred on 27 January 1816. In February of the same year, two more departments were formed, and in 1828 one more was added. When the First Constitution was signed in 1830, there were nine departments.
