Gorur
Goruru Ramaswamy Iyengar (1904–1991), popularly known as Goruru, was an Indian writer who wrote in Kannada. He was well known for his humour and satire. Early life Goruru Ramaswami Iyengar was born at "Goruru" in Hassan district of Karnataka in 1904. His father was Srinivas Iyengar and his mother Lakshamma. Career Goruru Ramaswami Iyengar was influenced by Indian Independence Movement and became a staunch follower of Mahatma Gandhi. He was jailed by the British administration in 1942 for 2 months for his participation in the Quit India Movement and in 1947. His son Ramachandra became a martyr for the same cause in 1947. After Independence in 1947, Goruru worked in the industries. He began writing early in life with the celebrated books ''HALLIYA CHITHRAGALLU'' (1930) and ''NAMMA OORINA RASIKARU'' (1932). Gorur, Hassan
Gorur is a small village in Hassan district of Karnataka state in India. Location Gorur is located in Hassan Taluk of Hassan district. It is located on the Hassan-Kushalnagara road. Tourism Gorur Dam Gardens and the Gorur temple attracts many visitors. A dam across the Hemavati was completed in 1979, above Gorur in Hassan district, and downstream from the Yagachi confluence. Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu
''Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu'' () is 1974 Indian Kannada-language drama film directed by Siddalingaiah, who co-wrote the screenplay with Gorur Ramaswamy Iyengar, based on Iyengar's short story of the same name from his novel, ''Vayyari.'' The film stars Vishnuvardhan and Lokesh; with M. P. Shankar, Jayamala, Rushyendramani and Balakrishna all acting in supporting roles. The film revolves around the enmity between two villagers, Ayyu and Gulla and how they mend their relationship. ''Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu'' was a 12 page short story in a compilation of stories by Gorou Ramaswamy. Ramaswamy had initially declined to give the rights to the story but eventually agreed. Though Siddalingaiah added new plot details and characters to increase the running time of the film, it retains the core premise of the original short story. D. V.
