Franciscan College Gormanston is a school operated and managed by the Irish province of the Order of the Friars Minor. The college operates under the trusteeship of the Minister Provincial and Definitory of the Franciscan Province of Ireland. In September 2014, the school moved from being a fee-charging school to the free school scheme. The college is situated in eastern County Meath close to the county border with Dublin. Niall O'Dowd
Niall O'Dowd (born 18 May 1953) in County Tipperary, Ireland, is an Irish American journalist and author living in the United States. He was involved in the negotiations leading to the Northern Irish Good Friday Peace Agreement. He is founder of ''Irish Voice'' newspaper and ''Irish America'' magazine in New York City, as well as overseeing ''Home and Away'' newspaper. The Kerry County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), or Kerry GAA, is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland. Denis Moran (Gaelic Footballer)
Denis "Ogie" Moran (born 16 January 1956 in Ballybunion, County Kerry) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer and manager. He played football with his local club Beale, his divisional side Shannon Rangers and also at senior level for the Kerry county team between 1975 and 1987. Early life Denis 'Ogie' Moran was born in Ballybunion, County Kerry in 1956. Born into a family that had a keen interest in Gaelic games, Moran's father instilled a love of the games in his son by bringing him to matches every weekend. In 1962 he was only six years-old when he travelled to Croke Park as the mascot to the Kerry team that captured the All-Ireland title. Moran was educated at the local national school and later boarded at the famous Franciscan College in Gormanston, County Meath. Michael White (judge)
Michael White (born 1953) is an Irish judge who served as a judge of the High Court between 2011 and 2021 and a judge of the Circuit Court between 1996 and 2011. He was formerly a politician and solicitor and was one of the first solicitors to be appointed the Irish judiciary. Early career White was born in Carndonagh, County Donegal. His father Michael was a solicitor. He attended St Patrick's Boys' National School, Carndonagh Boys Secondary School and Gormanston College. He graduated with a degree in law from University College Dublin in 1973 and qualified as a solicitor in 1975.
