The Gippsland Farmers' Journal wrote in 1889 that the town name was originally spelt 'Tarralgon' and that it was the Indigenous name for 'the river of little fish'. Flynn, Victoria
Flynn is a locality in Victoria, Australia, situated on the border of the City of Latrobe and Shire of Wellington. In the 2016 census, Flynn had a population of 180. A railway station was established on the Gippsland railway line at what was then named Flynn's Creek 1880, and was renamed Flynn 1910s. It was destaffed in 1926 due to insufficient traffic and was closed permanently in the 1970s. A post office at the station opened in November 1880, was renamed Flinnstead on 1 July 1894, was renamed again to Flynn on 21 September 1926 and closed on 20 December 1968. Rosedale, Victoria
Rosedale is a pastoral and agricultural town 184 kilometres east of Melbourne via the Princes Highway. It is situated on the southern side of the LaTrobe River. Once a staging post on the Port Albert to Sale and Port Albert to Walhalla coach runs, it was the administrative centre of the Shire of Rosedale which extended to the east and included the Ninety Mile Beach. The Tarra-Bulga National Park is a small national park located in the South Gippsland region of eastern Victoria, Australia approximately south east of Melbourne. The park is located south of Traralgon on the Traralgon-Balook Road and north of . The national park is situated in the eastern part of the Strzelecki Ranges. The national park is home to one of the last undisturbed remnants of the native eucalypt temperate rainforest that once covered the Strzelecki Ranges until the last decades of the nineteenth century.
