Gordon Strang
Gordon "Cocker" Strang (10 February 1908 – 8 October 1951) was an Australian rules footballer who played in the Victorian Football League for the Richmond Football Club between 1931 and 1936. Strang first came under notice when he kicked 10 goals for Jindera FC in the Albury & Border Football Association, in 1927. He was the son of Bill Strang, who played for South Melbourne between 1904 and 1913 (and was South Melbourne's leading goal-kicker in 1913) After a year in Tasmania as captain-coach of North Launceston, he returned to Richmond, and played all of Richmond's 18 matches in the 1938 season, scoring 6 goals. He then transferred to Wodonga as captain-coach in 1939. Jindera
Jindera is a small town in the South West Slopes section of the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia. The town is situated in the Greater Hume Shire local government area, north of the regional centre of Albury. At the 2016 census, Jindera had a population of 2,222 residents. Jindera's chief attraction is Jindera Pioneer Museum, which is contained within an old store and home that belonged to the pioneering Wagner family. The "store" is stocked with authentic goods of the 19th century, while the living area at the rear is furnished in the original style of the era. History Hamilton Hume and William Hovell were two early explorers who passed through the area, travelling from Sydney to Geelong in 1824. The North Launceston Football Club, nicknamed ''The Bombers'', is an Australian rules football club based in Launceston, Tasmania. Australia. Since 2009 they have played in the newly formed Tasmanian State League. History The club started as "Railway Football Club" in 1893 and were known as "Essendon" in the 1898 season. It fielded a team in the NTFA Junior Competition for three years, and began playing in the senior competition in 1896. Its first season under the North Launceston name was in 1899 when it played in the Northern Tasmanian Football Association. The club has remained in the top tier of state competition ever since, playing in the Tasmanian Football League and Northern Tasmanian Football League upon the competition restructures in the state. Ovens And Murray Football League
The Ovens and Murray Football Netball League (O&MFNL) is an Australian rules football and netball competition containing ten clubs based in north-eastern Victoria, Australia, Victoria, the southern Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia, New South Wales and the Ovens and Murray area. The name comes from the Ovens River, the river in the part of north-eastern Victoria covered by the league, and the Murray River, which separates Victoria and New South Wales. The league features three grades in the Australian rules football competition, with these being First-Grade, Reserve-Grade and Under 18s.
