Gordon Chree
Gordon Chree (born 1978) is a Scottish reporter for '' STV News'' and occasional relief anchor on the East edition of ''STV News at Six'', and the online video blog '' Not The Real MacKay''. Chree was one of the live reporters at the Glasgow Airport attack for STV, ITV News, and CNN. Prior to STV, Chree worked for several commercial radio stations, including the now-defunct Edinburgh station Talk 107 talk107 was a radio station based in Edinburgh, Scotland, broadcasting a phone-in based talk format. STV News
''STV News'' is a Scottish news service produced by STV. The news department produces two regional services covering STV's Channel 3 franchise areas of Northern and Central Scotland. STV's news programmes are produced from studios in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen with reporters also based at newsrooms in Dundee and Inverness and political correspondents based at Holyrood and Westminster. Freelance correspondents and camera crews are based on the Orkney and Shetland Isles, Wick and Fort William with a permanent Western Isles correspondent based in Stornoway. In addition to its daily bulletins and online services, STV News also produces the current affairs programme ''Scotland Tonight'' along with feature documentaries. STV (TV Channel)
STV is a Scottish free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by the STV Group. It is made up of the Central Scotland and Northern Scotland Channel 3 public broadcaster licences, formerly known as Scottish Television (now legally STV Central Ltd) and Grampian Television (now legally STV North Ltd) respectively. The STV brand refers to the on-air name used by Scottish Television for much of its history - notably in the 1970s and early 1980s. This brand remained in conversational use amongst the local public afterwards. The modern STV brand was adopted on Tuesday 30 May 2006 replacing both franchises' previous identities. The sense of continuity in the name was demonstrated when STV celebrated its 60th birthday in 2017, with special programmes broadcast on STV itself and the now defunct STV2. Scotland Today
''Scotland Today'' is a Scottish regional news programme covering Central Scotland, produced by STV Central (formerly Scottish Television). Despite its name suggesting a national remit, the programme was actually limited to stories around STV's Central Belt franchise. ''North Tonight'' covered STV's North Scotland region (from North Fife upwards), until both programmes were renamed '' STV News at Six'' in March 2009. History 1970s Based in Glasgow, the programme began on 11 September 1972 in a style very similar to its BBC counterpart ''Reporting Scotland'' and co-anchored by John Toye and Bill Kerr Elliot. 2007 Glasgow International Airport Attack
The Glasgow Airport attack was a terrorist ramming attack which occurred on 30 June 2007, at 15:11 BST, when a dark green Jeep Cherokee loaded with propane canisters was driven at the glass doors of the Glasgow Airport terminal and set ablaze. The car's driver was severely burnt in the ensuing fire, and five members of the public were injured, none seriously. Some injuries were sustained by those assisting the police in detaining the occupants. A close link was quickly established to the 2007 London car bombs the previous day. Both of the car's occupants were apprehended at the scene. Within three days, Scotland Yard had confirmed that eight people had been taken into custody in connection with this incident and that in London. ITV News
ITV News is the branding of news programmes on the British television network ITV. ITV has a long tradition of television news. Independent Television News (ITN) was founded to provide news bulletins for the network in 1955, and has since continued to produce all news programmes on ITV.
