Gordon Chalmers (swimmer)
Gordon H. "Slim" Chalmers (February 24, 1911 – January 18, 2000) was an American Swimming (sport), swimmer, swimming coach, and college athletics administrator. He competed in the Swimming at the 1932 Summer Olympics – Men's 100 metre backstroke, men's 100 metre backstroke at the 1932 Summer Olympics. Cranford, New Jersey
Cranford is a township in Union County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, located southwest of Manhattan. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 23,847, an increase of 1,222 (+5.4%) from the 2010 census count of 22,625, which in turn reflected an increase of 47 (+0.2%) from the 22,578 counted in the 2000 census. NJ Transit rail service is available at the Cranford station, along the Raritan Valley train line, with service to Newark Penn Station and to Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan via Midtown Direct. It is part of the New York City metropolitan area. East Orange High School was a comprehensive community public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades from 1891 to 2002 in East Orange, in Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. For most of its existence, the school operated as one of the two secondary schools of the East Orange School District. History The original building of East Orange High School, facing Winans Street, opened to students in 1891. An addition on Walnut Street was added in 1953.
