Gordi Eaton
Gordon Ladd Eaton (born November 28, 1939), known as Gordi Eaton, is an American alpine skier. He competed in the men's downhill at the 1960 Winter Olympics. Eaton is a Middlebury College Class of 1962 graduate, and competed on the school's alpine ski team. Eaton married Karen Budge, a former alpine ski racer. They reside in Middlebury, Vermont and co-own a restaurant in Lincoln, New Hampshire, in the White Mountains near Loon Mountain and Cannon Mountain ski areas. Littleton, New Hampshire
Littleton is a town in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 6,005 at the 2020 census. Situated at the northern edge of the White Mountains, Littleton is bounded on the northwest by the Connecticut River. The main village in town, where 4,467 people lived at the 2020 census, is defined as the Littleton census-designated place (CDP) and is centered on the intersection of U.S. Route 302 with New Hampshire Route 116, along the Ammonoosuc River. Loon Mountain
Loon Mountain is a mountain in Lincoln and Livermore, New Hampshire, in Grafton County. It is in the White Mountain National Forest. The mountain is known for Loon Mountain Ski Resort, which, like most New England mountain resorts, has expanded into an all-season recreation area. Geography There are two summits to Loon Mountain: the North Peak at , and the South Peak at above sea level. Between the two peaks and slightly to the north, at an elevation of , is Loon Pond. "Loon Peak", with an elevation of , is a northwest spur of North Peak. Each of the three peaks is the summit of one or more chairlifts belonging to the ski resort. Cannon Mountain Ski Area is a state-owned ski resort located on Cannon Mountain in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, United States. Cannon is located within Franconia Notch State Park and offers 10 lifts servicing of skiing (168 with snowmaking). Cannon has of trails and a north-northeast exposure and has the only aerial tram in New Hampshire. White Mountains (New Hampshire)
The White Mountains are a mountain range covering about a quarter of the state of New Hampshire and a small portion of western Maine in the United States. They are part of the northern Appalachian Mountains and the most rugged mountains in New England. The range is heavily visited due to its proximity to Boston, New York City, and Montreal. Karen Budge
Karen Annette Budge (born November 14, 1949) is a former World Cup alpine ski racer from the United States. She had three podium finishes and 30 top ten results in World Cup competitions between 1967 and 1972; overall her best result was 15th place in the 1969–70 season. At the 1972 Winter Olympics she placed 14th in the downhill and 23rd in the giant slalom events. Born and raised in Jackson, Wyoming, Budge married Gordi Eaton, a former alpine ski racer and coach. Middlebury is the shire town (county seat) of Addison County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 U.S. Census, the population was 9,152. Middlebury is home to Middlebury College and the Henry Sheldon Museum of Vermont History.
