Peterson Goodwyn (1745February 21, 1818) was an American planter, lawyer, soldier and politician from Virginia. He served in the United States House of Representatives from 1803 until his death in 1818. Early and family life Born at his father's plantation "Martins" near Petersburg, Virginia, Petersburg in the Colony of Virginia to Joseph Goodwyn (1720-1799) and his wife the former Martha Thweatt, Goodwyn had at least 11 siblings, including a brother Joseph Goodwyn Jr. who also served in the American Revolutionary War and Dr. William Boswell Goodwyn who practiced in Southampton, Virginia, Southampton and whose son and grandson (both William S. Myles Goodwyn
Myles Francis Goodwyn (born Miles Francis Goodwin on ) is a Canadian musician. He is the only original remaining member of the rock band April Wine, in which he is the lead vocalist, guitarist, and principal songwriter. Goodwyn has led the band since its inception and modest garage band roots to multi-platinum sales and peak. Goodwyn has appeared and performed on every April Wine release. Following the band's peak and commercial success during the 1970s and early '80s, Goodwyn disbanded April Wine and pursued a solo career. After a brief relocation to the Bahamas, Goodwyn returned to Canada and reformed April Wine in 1992. He continues to lead the band to the present day. Goodwyns is a housing estate in Dorking, a market town in Surrey, England. It is on the return slope of one of two hillsides of the town and adjoins North Holmwood, a green-buffered village. Albert Taylor Goodwyn (December 17, 1842 – July 1, 1931) was a U.S. Representative from Alabama. Early life and military career Born at Robinson Springs, Alabama, Goodwyn attended Robinson Springs Academy and South Carolina College at Columbia (now the University of South Carolina). During the Civil War, he enlisted in the Confederate Army and served until June 1865. He was mustered out at the close of the war as captain of a company of sharpshooters and was decorated with the Southern Cross of Honor.He graduated from the University of Virginia at Charlottesville, where he was a member of St. Anthony Hall, in 1867. John Goodwyn Barmby (Bapt. 12 November 1820 – 18 October 1881) was born at Yoxford in Suffolk and educated at Woodbridge School. He was an English Victorian era, Victorian utopian socialist thinker. He and his wife Catherine Isabella Barmby, Catherine Barmby (1816/17–1853) were influential supporters of Robert Owen in the late 1830s and early 1840s before moving into the radical Unitarianism, Unitarian stream of Christianity in the 1840s. Alfred Goodwyn
Alfred George Goodwyn (13 March 1850 – 14 March 1874) was an English Royal Engineer, who represented his regiment at football. He was a member of the Regiment's team that was defeated in the very first FA Cup final. He also represented England in the second international football match against Scotland in 1873. Career Goodwyn was born at Roorhir, Bengal, in British India (now Ruhea, Bangladesh). In 1869, he entered the Royal Military Academy at Woolwich. In August 1871, he was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Royal Engineers. Fellow graduates on the same day were two of his fellow FA Cup finalists, Edmond Cotter and Herbert Muirhead, as well as Richard Ruck, who played in the 1875 FA Cup Final.
