Good Old Days (Leroy Shield Song)
"Good Old Days", is a 1930 instrumental song written by Leroy Shield, which was the theme song for Hal Roach's ''Our Gang'' comedy short films, now known as ''The Little Rascals''. History The tune was originally written as score for a prison schoolroom scene in ''Pardon Us'', Laurel & Hardy's first feature film as a team. Shield, a musical director hired by the Roach studio on loan from RCA Victor, had been requested by Hal Roach to also write a theme for ''Our Gang'' while he was scoring ''Pardon Us,'' and when Roach came to check on progress for the theme, Shield submitted the selection from the ''Pardon Us'' score to satisfy the request. As ''Pardon Us'' was delayed and not released in theaters until August 1931, "Goold Old Days" was first heard as the opening and recurring theme for the ''Our Gang'' short ''Teacher's Pet'' in October 1930.Leonard Maltin, Richard W. Bann ''Our Gang: The Life and Times of the Little Rascals'' p 119 1977 "The series' lilting theme song, "Good O ...

For various projects they have been reconfigured as The Beau Hunks Sextette, The Beau Hunks Saxophone Soctette, The Beau Hunks Saxophone Quartet, and The Beau Hunks Orchestra. Revivalist Artist
A revivalist artist or revivalist band is a musical group, singer, or musician dedicated to reviving interest in a musical genre from an earlier era. Overview Such performers are usually dedicated enthusiasts of a particular musical genre – often a style that is no longer in vogue – and act as evangelists to spread awareness and appreciation of that music to new audiences. Most such acts do this by live performances at a variety of venues. Unlike tribute acts who are usually dedicated to recreating material associated with just one primary artist (such as Elvis Presley or The Beatles) as a nostalgic entertainment, revivalist artists tend to draw on material from a wide range of artists and writers from the chosen musical genre. Unlike cover bands who are primarily populist entertainers playing cover versions of popular hit songs to satisfy audience enjoyment of familiar music, revivalist artists usually see themselves as performers with a musical mission to revive a cherished ...

The following is a common version in the United States: One UK variant has "The nurse takes a dog"; it ends by clapping attingthe dog. Origin and dissemination The rhyme was first recorded in Germany in 1826, as "Es fuhr ein Bau'r ins Holz". It was more clearly a courtship game, with a farmer choosing a wife, then selecting a child, maid, and serving man who leaves the maid after kissing her. This was probably taken to America by German immigrants, where it next surfaced in New York City in 1883, in its modern form and using a melody similar to "A-Hunting W ...
