''Good News!'' is a studio album by American singer Jody Miller. It was released in July 1973 on Epic Records and featured 11 tracks. The ninth studio album of her career, ''Good News!'' was a country-themed album mixing cover tunes with original material. Among its original songs were the singles " Good News" and " Darling, You Can Always Come Back Home". Both singles reached the top ten of the North American country charts in 1973. Myrna Joy "Jody" Miller (November 29, 1941 – October 6, 2022) was an American country music singer. "Home of the Brave" and "Queen of the House" are her well-known albums. She is a recipient of the Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance in 1966. Early life Miller was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on November 29, 1941. She was the youngest of five sisters. Her father worked as a mechanic. Miller grew up in Los Angeles, before relocating to Blanchard, Oklahoma, when she was eight years old to live with her grandmother after her parents divorced. She attended Blanchard High School, graduating in 1959. Joe Stampley
Joe Stampley (born June 6, 1943) is an American country music singer. He had success as the lead singer of a rock group, in a country duo with Moe Bandy and as a solo performer. Stampley has released over 20 albums and more than 60 singles in a career that spans seven decades. In 2000, he formed Critter Records. Biography He was born in Springhill, Louisiana, United States, to R. C. Stampley, Jr. (1920–2000) and Mary E. Stampley (1924–2004). Stampley befriended Merle Kilgore when he was aged 15 and they started writing songs together. Norris Denton "Norro" Wilson (April 4, 1938 – June 8, 2017) was an American country music singer-songwriter, producer, and member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Wilson wrote or co-wrote numerous hit songs during more than 40 years in the industry, including songs for David Houston (singer), David Houston, Jean Shepard, Charlie Rich, Charley Pride, George Jones, and Tammy Wynette, among many others. George Richey
George Richey (born George Baker Richardson; November 30, 1935 – July 31, 2010) was an American songwriter and record producer. He was born in Arkansas, but raised in Malden, Missouri. Career Richey was a mainstay of the Nashville country music community since the 1960s through his songwriting and record production. In the 1970s, he co-wrote " Keep Me in Mind," a No. 1 country hit for Lynn Anderson in 1973. He also wrote hits for future wife Tammy Wynette and Wynette's then-husband, George Jones, including Jones's " A Picture of Me (Without You)" and "The Grand Tour," and Wynette's " 'Til I Can Make It On My Own" and " You and Me", among many other artists. ''RPM'' ( and later ) was a Canadian music-industry publication that featured song and album charts for Canada. The publication was founded by Walt Grealis in February 1964, supported through its existence by record label owner Stan Klees. ''RPM'' ceased publication in November 2000. A phonograph record (also known as a gramophone record, especially in British English), or simply a record, is an analog sound storage medium in the form of a flat disc with an inscribed, modulated spiral groove. The groove usually starts near the periphery and ends near the center of the disc. At first, the discs were commonly made from shellac, with earlier records having a fine abrasive filler mixed in. Starting in the 1940s polyvinyl chloride became common, hence the name vinyl. The phonograph record was the primary medium used for music reproduction throughout the 20th century. "The House of the Rising Sun" is a traditional folk song, sometimes called "Rising Sun Blues". It tells of a person's life gone wrong in the city of New Orleans. Many versions also urge a sibling or parents and children to avoid the same fate.
