Gonna Catch You
"Gonna Catch You" is a 1991 song by American Hi-NRG singer Lonnie Gordon, written and produced by Italian group Black Box. First released around Europe in April 1991, it became the singer's second top 40 hit in the UK. It would also be Gordon's last release with her UK label, Supreme Records, which folded soon after. Months later, the single was featured in the 1991 film, ''Cool as Ice''. SBK Records signed Gordon and released the single in the US, making it her debut solo single in her homeland. It became the first of three number one dance singles in a row for Gordon in the US. The single also made the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, peaking at #79, and was Gordon's only hit on the soul singles chart peaking at #30. Lonnie Gordon (born November 8, 1965, Philadelphia) is an American female dance, pop and Contemporary R&B, R&B singer and songwriter. She scored several record chart, chart hit record, hits during the 1990s, most notably for her 1990 United Kingdom, UK top 10 single ''Happenin' All Over Again''. Early life and career Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Gordon moved to the Bronx at an early age. In the early 1980s, she started performing around the Harlem area in clubs as the lead singer of a band called Nythjar. After meeting her husband, she relocated to England in the late 1980s, and retired from the music scene to take care of her daughter Rikki. The Official Charts (legal name: The Official UK Charts Company Limited) is a British inter-professional organization that compiles various "official" record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France. In the United Kingdom, its charts include ones for singles, albums and films, with the data compiled from a mixture of downloads, purchases (of physical media) and streaming. The Dutch Single Top 100 or Single Top 100 is a Dutch chart, based on official physical single sales, legal downloads and since July 2013 streaming and composed by Dutch Charts. It is one of the three official charts, the other two being the Dutch Top 40 and the Mega Top 30. The difference is that these charts also include airplay data. It started as a radio program titled "Veronica Top 40", on the offshore station Radio Veronica in 1965. It remained "The Veronica Top 40" until 1974, when the station was forced to stop broadcasting.
