Gongguan Metro Station
Gongguan (, formerly transliterated as Kungkuan Station until 2003) is a metro station in Taipei, Taiwan served by the Taipei Metro. National Taiwan University, the most prestigious university of Taiwan, is close to the station. Station overview The two-level, underground station has an island platform and four exits. The washrooms are outside the entrance area. History Originally, two separate stations were planned: one to serve National Taiwan University and the other (to be named Gongguan station) at the junction of Roosevelt Road and Keelung Road. The two stations were later combined as one and moved to the present position where it began operation on 11 November 1999. Another accessible elevator is opened at exit 2 to serve the National Taiwan University community. It was completed after a year of construction on 16 June 2010. Taipei Metro
Taipei Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), branded as Metro Taipei, is a rapid transit system serving the areas of Taipei and New Taipei City, New Taipei in Taiwan, operated by the State-owned enterprise, government-owned Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation, which also operates the Maokong Gondola. Taipei Metro was the first metro system ever built in Taiwan. The initial network was approved for construction in 1986 and work began two years later. The Taipei Metro Taipower Building station is a station on the Xindian Line located on the border in Taipei, Taiwan. Gongguan () is a commercial district straddling the Zhongzheng and Daan Districts of Taipei, Taiwan. It is a popular shopping and leisure area with a night market and it is also the location of the Gongguan Station of the Taipei Metro. Treasure Hill
Treasure Hill () is a community in Taipei, Taiwan. Originally an illegal settlement, it was founded by the Kuomintang military veterans at the end of the 1940s and served originally as an anti-aircraft position. After cooperating with non-governmental organization Global Artivists Participation Project, the Taipei City Government developed the area into an example of environmentally sustainable urban community. The Museum of Drinking Water () is a museum about drinking water in Zhongzheng District, Taipei, Taiwan. The museum is located at Taipei Water Park. History The museum building was originally built in 1908. It was declared a third-class historic site in 1993 and opened as museum for the first time in September the same year. Taipei Water Park
The Taipei Water Park () is a water park in Zhongzheng District, Taipei, Taiwan. History Since 2000, the Taipei Water Department had repaired and restored Taipei Pumping Room and set up the Museum of Drinking Water for the public. The first phase work completed in 2002, combined with part of space of Gongguan Water Treatment Plant and renamed it as Taipei Water Park. On 27 July 2016, a fire broke out at the park, prompting the evacuation of the 1,200 visitors. The fire started from a solar panel grid. The Museum of Zoology () of National Taiwan University (NTU) is a museum about zoology at the NTU main campus in Da'an District, Taipei, Taiwan. History The museum was originally established in 1928 during the Japanese rule. In the early days, recording of fauna in Taiwan and its neighboring areas such as Asia and Hainan was the major purpose of its collections. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks. The historical use of island platforms depends greatly upon the location. Songshan Station
Songshan () is a railway and metro station in Taipei, Taiwan, served by Taiwan Railways and Taipei Metro. This station connects to the shopping centre at basement 1 and level 1. The station is a planned transfer for the Circular line, where, unlike the Songshan–Xindian line, continues straight until its terminus after Xiangshan station, which is likely Sanzhangli station.
