Gong Xiangyu
Gong Xiangyu (; born 21 April 1997) is a Chinese volleyball player. On club level, she plays for Jiangsu. Personal She was born in Lianyungang to a P.E. teacher mother who was once a national épée champion, and a policeman father who used to play for the Jiangsu U23 basketball team. Her given name Xiangyu means "flying in the universe." She started attending Nanjing Normal University in 2016. Career Junior Before 2014, she was a setter. As a substitute player, she participated in 2012 Asian Youth Girls Volleyball Championship and 2013 FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship. In 2014, because the former main opposite hitter, Ju Wanrong's injury, she began to be an opposite hitter and had success. Lianyungang
Lianyungang () is a prefecture-level city in northeastern Jiangsu province, China. It borders Yancheng to its southeast, Huai'an and Suqian to its south, Xuzhou to its southwest, and the province of Shandong to its north. 2023 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League
The 2023 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League will be the fifth edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League, an annual Women's international volleyball tournament. The competition will be held between 30 May to 16 July 2023, and the final round will take place in College Park Center, Arlington,Texas,United States. Following the results of 2022 Nations League and 2022 Challenger Cup, Belgium were replaced by debutants Croatia in this edition. Qualification Sixteen teams qualified for the competition. Eleven of them qualified as core teams which cannot face relegation. Five other teams were selected as challenger teams which could be relegated from the tournament. Montreux Volley Masters
The Montreux Volley Masters (founded as the Coupe des Nations, later changed to BCV Volley Cup between 1990 and 1996 and to its current name in 1998) is an international invitational tournament for national teams in women's volleyball hosted by the Swiss Volley. Held annually in Montreux, Switzerland since 1984, it is the tournament that opens the international season for national teams. The main objective of this competition is to work as a preparation for more important and prestigious volleyball tournaments organized by the ''Fédération Internationale de Volleyball'' ( FIVB), such as the World Grand Prix, the World Championship, the World Cup and the Olympic Games. The 2016 Asian Women's Volleyball Cup, so-called 2016 AVC Cup for Women was the fifth edition of the Asian Cup, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Volleyball Federation of Vietnam (VFV). AVC Cup For Women
The Asian Women's Volleyball Cup, also known as the AVC Cup for Women, is an international volleyball competition in Asia and Oceania contested by the top senior women's national teams of the members of Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the sport's continent governing body. The tournaments have been awarded every two years since 2008. The current champion is Japan, which won its first title at the 2022 tournament. The 7 Asian Cup tournaments have been won by three different national teams. China have won five times. The other Asian Cup winners are Japan and Thailand, with one title each. The women's tournament in volleyball at the 2022 Asian Games was the 19th edition of the event at an Asian Games, organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation in conjunction with the OCA. The 2022 Asian Games (), officially known as the 19th Asian Games (), also known as Hangzhou 2022, ( zh, c=杭州2022, p=Hángzhōu Èr líng èr èr), will be a multi-sport event celebrated in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The Asian Games, also known as Asiad, is a continental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League
The 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League was the second edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League, an annual international women's volleyball tournament contested by 16 national teams. The competition was held between May and July 2019, and for the second time, the final round took place in the Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre, Nanjing, China. United States won their second title in the competition, defeating Brazil in five sets on the final, after being 0–2 down. China defeated Turkey in four sets for the bronze medal.
