Gondia Junction (station code: G) serves Gondia in Gondia district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is one of the important railway stations in India of South East central railways zone railways. This station is India's third and first in Vidarbha to get mist cooling system.Its falls under nagpur division History The Nagpur Chhattisgarh Railway started construction of the Nagpur–Rajnandgaon section in 1878, after surveys were started in 1871. The Nagpur–Tumsar Road section was opened in April 1880 and the Tumsar Road–Rajnandgaon section in December 1880. The Bengal Nagpur Railway was formed in 1887 for the purpose of upgrading the Nagpur Chhattisgarh Railway and then extending it via to Asansol. Balaghat Junction (station code: BTC) is situated on the Jabalpur–Nainpur– Gondia section of South East Central Railway (earlier called Bengal Nagpur Railway or BNR), in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Satpura Railway
The Satpura Railway was a narrow-gauge railway in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra in central India. History After the Great Famine of 1876–78 in central India, the Bengal Nagpur Railway began planning to open a low-cost railway track that would unite the region, allowing both access to the agricultural and mineral resources of the region, further safeguarding the inhabitants should another famine arise. Nainpur was the focal point of the network and was even bestowed with the prestige of being a divisional headquarters for some time. The lines came up in the early years of the 20th century. The first portion of the Gondia–Nainpur line was opened on 13 April 1903, Nainpur and Chhindwara were connected in 1904 and Jabalpur in 1905.
