Prabjhote Kaur "Jyoti" Gondek (born 1969) is a Canadian politician serving as the 37th and current mayor of Calgary since October 25, 2021. Early life and education Born in London, England, Gondek is the daughter of Indian Punjabi Sikh parents Jasdev Singh Grewal, a lawyer, and Surjit Kaur Grewal. She immigrated to Canada with her parents at age four, initially settling in Manitoba. Gondek pursued a bachelor's degree in criminology and sociology from the University of Manitoba, where she worked as a policy analyst with the government of Manitoba before moving to Calgary, where she worked in sales and marketing for the Credit Union of Central Alberta. Gondek pursued a master's degree in organizational sociology during a two-year stint at Greyhound. She founded a strategic planning and communications consultancy, Tick Consulting, while pursuing a PhD in urban sociology at the University of Calgary, where she also taught and eventually directed a real-estate studies initiative ...

Kacper Gondek
Kacper Gondek (5 January 1993 - 26 January 2018) was a Polish slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 2008 to 2015. He competed in C1 and C2 and had success in both categories at the junior and under-23 level, winning three silver medals at the World Championships (C1 Junior: 2010, C1 team Junior: 2010 and C1 team U23: 2013). His C2 partner was Wojciech Pasiut. Kacper died on 26 January 2018 after succumbing to cancer. His brother Kamil Gondek Kamil is a name used in a number of languages. Leszek Gondek ( Włodzimierz Wołyński, Poland, 22 March 1939 – 22 March 2013, Gdańsk, Poland)) was a Polish lawyer, historian, essayist, and writer specializing in 20th-century European and Polish history. He was a professor at the Gdansk University of Physical Education and Sport.
