is a Japanese manga series created by Masashi Tanaka, about the (wordless) adventures of a dinosaur and the title character. Gon was most notable outside Japan for his appearance in the PlayStation version of ''Tekken 3''. An animated TV series began airing in Japan on April 2, 2012. The manga received an Excellence Prize at the Japan Media Arts Festival and won an Eisner Award. is a Japan-exclusive side-scrolling platform game for the Super Famicom published by Bandai in 1994. The game is an adaptation of the manga series Gon by Masashi Tanaka, about the daily life of a super-deformed orange ''Giganotosaurus'' dinosaur named Gon. Plot Like the manga, the game has minimal plot and no dialogue. It advances the story using comics-style cutscenes with a focus on comic situations Gon gets himself into searching for food, interacting with other animals, or venturing into different ecosystems that made up the prehistoric world. Gameplay Enemies include monkeys, warthogs, polar bears, rhinoceroses, ibex, and bobcats. Sharks and orcas have the special ability to swallow Gon whole, but he can break free in most instances. is the protagonist from Yoshihiro Togashi's manga series ''Hunter × Hunter''. A young boy, Gon discovers that his father, who left him at a young age, is actually a world-renowned Hunter, a licensed professional who specializes in fantastical pursuits such as locating rare or unidentified animal species, treasure hunting, surveying unexplored enclaves, or hunting down lawless individuals. Gon departs on a journey to become a Hunter and eventually find his father. Along the way, Gon meets various other Hunters and encounters the paranormal. Togashi originally created Gon as an ideal son. However, the way he saw his backstory in retrospect made him change his characterization as Gon instead comes across as a selfish teenager for the way he starts his quest. is a Japanese children's story about the life of a little fox called Gon. The story is considered the masterpiece of Niimi Nankichi, also sometimes known as the Hans Christian Andersen of Japan. Synopsis Gon (Japanese: ) is a little fox. Looking for food he comes to a little village, where he repeatedly steals food and creates other mischief, constantly evading the angry villagers. One day Gon steals an eel in front of Hyoju (Japanese: ), which Hyoju wanted to give to his sick old mother. His mother subsequently dies. Gon realizes his mistake and tries to make it up by secretly giving Hyoju gifts he stole, although the villagers now accuse Hyoju of stealing and beat him up. Afterwards, Gon only gives mushrooms and nuts he collected in the forest. Hyoju is grateful for the gifts, although he does not know where they come from.
