Gomti Ke Kinare
''Gomti Ke Kinare'' is a 1972 Bollywood drama film, directed by Saawan Kumar Tak in his directorial debut. The film stars Meena Kumari and Mumtaz. It was the last release of Meena Kumari, and was released posthumously on 22 November 1972, 8 months after her death on 31 March. She shot the film through her failing health in 1971, and was apprehensive whether she would be able to complete the filming. Eventually, she did with the last schedule on 29 December 1971. However, despite the music score by R.D. Burman, the film failed at the box office. Amitabh Bachchan was being considered (to play the hero, opposite Mumtaz) by Saawan Kumar and Meena Kumari. However, Mumtaz, who was close to the Khan brothers at the time, recommended Sameer Khan instead. Plot Sameer lives a poor lifestyle in Bombay with his mother, Ganga, and maternal uncle, Nekiram. Saawan Kumar Tak
Saawan Kumar Tak (9 August 1936 – 25 August 2022) was an Indian film director, producer, and lyricist. He directed many Hindi films, including successful films like ''Saajan Bina Suhagan'', ''Souten'', '' Souten Ki Beti'', ''Sanam Bewafa'', '' Bewaffa Se Waffa''. He is credited with giving break to actors such as Sanjeev Kumar and Mehmood Junior. His most famous directorial venture was Rajesh Khanna starrer ''Souten'', which was the first Indian film to be shot in Mauritius and was a platinum jubilee hit. Saawan Kumar began his career as the producer of the 1967 Sanjeev Kumar starrer film ''Naunihal''. He was the one who gave the name Sanjeev to actor Haribhai Jariwala. Shyama (born Khurshid Akhtar; 7 June 1935 – 14 November 2017) was an Indian actress who appeared in Hindi films. She was active between 1945 and 1989. She is best known for her roles in ''Aar Paar'' (1954 film) and ''Barsaat Ki Raat'' (1960 film). Career Born as Khurshid Akhtar in Lahore, Punjab in British India on 7 June 1935 into a Muslim family, Shyama moved to MUmbai from Lahore in the 1940s. Asit Sen (actor)
Asit Sen (13 May 1917 – 18 September 1993) was an Indian film director turned famous comedian in the Hindi film industry. He directed 2 films and starred in over 200 films between 1953 and 1993 until his death. As an actor/comedian, he often portrayed a character with authority, such as a police inspector or landlord, but with comic effect, mostly as a slow-speaking person. His acting career was particularly prolific in the 1960s, 1970s, and early 1980s. He had a very thin voice, in striking contrast to his huge physical frame and spoke his dialogues at a slow pace. Randhir (actor)
Randhir was an Indian character actor in Hindi and Punjabi films who was active from the 1940s to the 1980s. He appeared in over 172 films. Originally, he played side heroes or the friend of the hero. On a few occasions, he even played the hero. One of his most famous hero's friend roles was in ''Dil Deke Dekho'' (1959). The 1960s was a period of transition. Due to his age and displacement from hero's friend roles by comedians, Randhir began to experiment with character roles. Kanwarjit Paintal, better known as Paintal (born 22 August 1948), is an Indian actor and comedian. He started off as a comic actor and moved on to teaching the art of acting. He has extensively worked not only in numerous movies but also television. He was last seen by Amayra Gupta from Delhi, Pitampura at Film City on Date 13 june. He was born into a Sikh family in a village named Tarn Taran which is near Amritsar, Punjab. He lived his early life with his family members in Sadar Bazaar, Delhi.
