Gomoh
Gomoh (better known as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Junction Gomoh) is a census town in Topchanchi CD Block Dhanbad Sadar subdivision of Dhanbad district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. It has a major railway junction, which was renamed Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Gomoh railway station on 23 January 2009, that is situated on the Grand Chord Line under the Dhanbad division of the East Central Railway. Gomoh is the meeting point for trains coming from Howrah (Eastern Railway), Ranchi/Bokaro (South Eastern Railway) and Puri/Bhubaneswar (East Coast Railway). History and Culture On his great escape from the British, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose caught the 17 January 1941 Howrah-Kalka Mail, then known as the 63UP Howrah-Peshawar Express, from Gomoh. Gomoh Junction, officially known as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Gomoh (station code is GMO) is a railway junction station in the Indian state of Jharkhand. Several branch lines start here: Gomoh–Barkakana branch line, Gomoh–Muri branch line and Adra–Gomoh line. It is located in Dhanbad district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. Topchanchi (community Development Block)
Topchanchi is a community development block that forms an administrative division in Dhanbad Sadar subdivision of Dhanbad district, Jharkhand state, India. Overview Dhanbad district forms a part of the Chota Nagpur Plateau, but it is more of an upland than a plateau. The district has two broad physical divisions – the southern part is a coal mining area with mining and industrial towns, and the northern part has villages scattered around hills. The landscape of the southern part is undulating and monotonous, with some scars of subsidence caused by underground mining. ''Kalka Mail'' (Officially as ''Netaji Express'') is the oldest running train in India. This train connects Howrah in Kolkata, capital of the State of West Bengal to Kalka in the North-Western state of Haryana. Kalka is the railhead for the Kalka-Shimla Railway which connects to Shimla, the one time summer capital of the British Raj. Dhanbad Sadar Subdivision
Dhanbad Sadar subdivision is an administrative subdivision of the Dhanbad district in the state of Jharkhand, India. History The earliest administrative mention of Dhanbad, refers to the transfer of the headquarters of Gobindapur subdivision of erstwhile Manbhum District to Dhanbaid (as it was then known) in the closing years of the 16th century. Dhanbad district was created in 1956 by carving out the old Dhanbad subdivision and Chas and Chandankiyari police station areas of the Sadar subdivision of Manbhum district, on the recommendations of the States Reorganisation Commission. Initially, the district was split into two subdivisions – Sadar and Baghmara. In 2001, Bokaro district was formed with certain areas of Dhanbad district, which formed Chas subdivision, and Bermo subdivision of Giridih district.
